DAMN....how thin is factory paint???

I waxed my 1987 GN last weekend. I used Meguiar's tech wax...which I think is pretty safe. When I removed the wax......I almost died! On the front end part, infront of where the hood closes, on one of the raised lines.....the paint came off! I now have a very thin, but annoying line of primer peeking out. it looks like a thin white/grey pinstripe there. This really pissed me off, because I am sooo careful with this car. It is also a mint condition, garage queen with only 11,000 miles on it! Was the paint just too thin there or should I start using a diff wax? I'm now paranoid about ever waxing it again. I just might start using the spray on detailer??? Has anyone had similar problems?

Try using a non-cleaner wax.

Any of the glazes on the market and then non-cleaner wax.

I only use Zymol the paste. about $50.00 a jar
It's only Natural waxes you put in on wet and remove wet
Great shine
