I have been patient with this guy , but a $3600.00 deal that went totally wrong and has been going on since August of 2007 has me totally tired of waiting for him to straighten this out !!! I may need the Miaimi Mafia to get involved. ANY IDEAS !!! Mike;) :mad:

I've dealt with Dave a few times, all within the last year. He's always been straight up with all our dealings. Knowing and dealing with you in the past has always been a pleasure as well. I'm sure you guys will be able to work this out.

Im not sure that I bashed you by opening this post. I'm simply curious
to know if anyone else has had any problems with your dealings. In no way did I wish to BASH you!!! But I do wish to get this straightened out!!!

You put your fully machined and balanced short block up for sale on this FOR SALE SECTION, at your price. I told you that I would take it as long as everything was in good usable condition. You said it was fresh from the machine shop and READY FOR ASSEMBLY!!!! You gave me a price for the parts and a price for the shipping. I sent you a check for the exact amount agreed upon!!!

That put the ball in your court!!! SO --to save on shipping you stuck all the parts included in this deal (except the block) into a light weight cardboard box and mailed it to me. THATS RIGHT--EVERY PART!! Crank , rods , main caps , studs & bolts , pistons , rings , wrist pins, etc. Now I have a block missing a MAIN CAP and also quite a few of the bolts and studs!!! And a crank with a crack thru a rod journal oil hole!!!

To your credit (or whomever packaged it)the crank was at least wraped in bubble wrap on one side of the box !! BUT THATS WHERE THE COMPILMENTS END , BECAUSE EVERY OTHER PART rods, caps ,bolts ,studs, nuts, pistons, rings, ETC. was simply thrown in the box LOOSE. Now mind you a crank weighs 50# and warrants shipping in its own box!!! But you thru in the rest of the parts in with it!!! That box had to weigh 75 to 80# and with everything in there loose to clang and bang around!! If it had been packaged seperately or in a heavy box that had any kind of chance of surviving that kind of beating things might be different.

I put more tape on packages I send out that weigh less that 2 pounds than you did on a package weighing 75 to 80#(see pics). After receiving the package and discovering that the parts were missing, I went and talked to my local post office (they know me by name) to see if they had any of the parts that were missing. They said NO but that they had to tape the box up just to bring it out to me cause it was falling apart. So some of the tape that is in the Pics was put on there by my local post office. BOTTOM LINE IS they weren't your parts anymore, and you didnt care!

So the box took all it couldnt take , till somewhere between YOU and ME it
started spilling out parts!!! So now here I am with a fully machined block
that will now need to be fully machined again with new main cap!! And a
balanced rotating assembly that needs a new crank-- which will need to be
balanced. AND THIS ALL STARTED IN AUGUST OF 2007!!! I THINK ITS TIME
TO FIX THIS!!! EXACLY WHAT PART OF THIS IS MY FAULT !!!! MIKE:confused:

OUCH! A good box, lots of bubble wrap, and a lot of tape would have been a LOT cheaper! Sorry to hear about this Mike, your a good guy, hate to see good guys get screwed! I hope things will get worked out for ya!

OUT FROM THE PERSON I PURCHASED IT FROM HERE IS THE Invoice of MESA BALANCING when that motor was machine and prepared. Now don't you think that if the Crankshaft had a crack in it that Laz Mesa would have not seen it?????? This guy does 1000's of crankshafts and especially this one being a STAGE 11 Stroker Crank he would have not seen this..... don't think so. If all the parts were banging around in the box like the customer was telling you isn't it POSSIBLE that those items were banging on the crank, Plus all you would need is just to drop that Crank and that's IT......I talked to Larry and Laz about it and they agree with me 100%. I think that the shipper should be involved in this because that crank WAS NOT CRACKED when it was shipped and you know it. So the Shipper insurance should pay for this, wasn't your fault nor mine and nor MESA because he would have spotted that in a heart beat especially after a MAGNAFLUX which he does on all his cranks when finished.

Man, after reading this, it sure makes me happy to hand over my $$ to the UPS store to package my stuff for me. I have had good feedback from customers because of their work.

The crank cracked at a rod oil hole, and it's blamed on it being dropped??
That's Bull$hidt... There are 1000's of cranks that develop small cracks at oil holes, and are run for yrs that way..

Used 6.5 Carrillo rods $500.00
New in the box JE 4.010 Pistons Pins and Rings $450.00
All plus shipping. There were More items listed but I wasn't interested in them

I get back home and my block shows up. It shows that you shipped it out more than 3 weeks after I told you to keep it. Im happy to say that the block looks nice and Im happy about that. HOWEVER the caps, bolts & stud issue is still yet to be resolved , along with this cracked crank. I purchased these parts over 4 months ago and its still a freaking mess!!! I realize that the post office said that it may take up to 4 months to recover the lost items , so I can hold off till the first of the year on that. BUT this crank issue needs to be resolved NOW!!!! Please get back with me on this ASAP!!!

David , David ,David !!! On the time line post above , ITEM #6. When I ask you about the stroke of the crank and the brand and size of the bearings for it , you said they are Federal Mogel #--- .010 mains / .010 rods

In Your last posting where you claim that Mesa Balancing worked on the crank
and COULD NOT HAVE MISSED A CRACK. You also E-mailed me a copy of YOUR EVIDENCE!!!! Thank you for doing that !!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!
That invoice is from March of 2000!!! The very first line on that invoice says
REPAIR STROKER CRANK R-.020 / M-.010. No where on there does it say that they magged that crank , and that was 8 years ago!!!!! SEE ATTACHED

Now the funny thing is that you got my curisoty up , so I dug that crank out to look at it again. MAINS ARE .010 and the RODS ARE .030!!! WTF GIVES
HERE-- you tell me its 10/10 , you send me an 8 year old invoice as evidence
that shows 10/20 and the DAM CRANK YOU SENT ME IS CRACKED AND IS10/30.

I dont believe for one second that YOU , LAZ , ME , or anyone else can spot a hairline crack in a crank , at least until it has been pointed out by having it magged. THATS WHY WE GET THINGS MAGGED!!! It finds cracks that humans cant detect.

BOTTOM LINE!!! Lay the blame on any one you choose!!! This is your mess to clean up!!! If any of the information or timelines I have posted here are
not true or out of place please correct me!!! OTHERWISE PLEASE CLEAN THIS MESS UP!!

Countrys' been on here a long time. Sounds like you've had alot of patience in the matter. Hope you two resolve this soon weather it's a refund and you find the parts you need elsewhere or he get's you a good crank and pays for the caps/line bore that would be needed to streighten up the block/caps again. Sure is a big mess guys. I feel for both of ya.

NO ONE GOT SCREWED HERE FROM MY END... I PURCHASED A CRANKSHAFT AND LONG BLOCK THROUGH HARPERS RACING FOR 11 K AND IT WAS ALL IN PEICES.. I WAS TOLD IT WAS 10 10 CRANK FRESH FROM THE SHOP SO THAT IS WHAT I ADVERTIZED IT AS.. SO YOU GUYS DONT THINK FOR ONE MINUTE I SOLD JUNK TO MY KNOWLEDGE.. I REPRESENTED IT THE WAY IT WAS REPRESENTED TO ME I DONT KNOW ALOT ABOUT STAGE 2 ENGINES I KNOW THEY MAKE ALOT OF POWER SO THAT IS WHY I GOT THE ENGINE I WAS TOLD IT IS NOT A BIG DEAL TO FINISH IT UP STARTED PRICING STUFF OUT AND I WOULD HAVE 30--50 K IN THE BUILD THAT IS TO MUCH FOR ME TO SPEND..RITE KNOW SO I SOLD IT TO BUILD A QUICK 109 THE SHIPPING CO NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF THE LOST ITEMS NO ME I DID NOT LOOSE THEM OR DID I DESTROY THE BOX THAT WAS RATED FOR 85 POUNDS AND WAS TIGHLY PACKED WHEN IT LEFT..I WILL WAIT FOR THE RESPONSE FROM THE SHIPPING CO AS FOR NOW I DONT HAVE EXTRA FUNDS LAYING AROUND FOR ANY REFUND ALL OF THESE PARTS WERE AND ARE USED AS FAR AS DAMAGE GOES AS I SAID I REPRESENTED THE PARTS THE SAME WAT THEY WERE ADVERTIZED TO ME IF THE CRANK IS INDEED CRACKED THEN HARPERS RACING SHOULD STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THAT DEAL AS I WAS OR MAY HAVE BEEN SOLD SOMETHING FAULTY SO THAT IS FALSE ADVERTIZEMENT FROM HARPERS RACING AND HE SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR THE CRANK.. The problem is that YOU sold these parts. Mike did not buy these parts from Harpers Racing. Any well known vendor will give an immediate refund on a damaged part and it is HIS responsibilty to get HIS refund back. Placing blame anywhere else but yourself is WRONG. Mike bought these parts for a price shipped. It's not Mike's fault that you didnt sell the advertised parts and that you didnt pack them properly. Just to let you know, most shipping companies require 3" of padding around an item to be "packaged properly". I found this out myself when I shipped BWEAVY a center counsel. Guess what, it got destroyed and I had to refund Brian. I never got a dime from DHL.
 
Just a question, country.....email stated that shipping would be via multiple packages going Fedex.....apparently all loose parts were in 1 box shipped Parcel Post- the worst way possible to ship.

What happened? Or, did I miss something?

Yeah if i had that much money riding on a deal, i wouldnt have stuffed it all in one box and shipped it for $34 bucks
I just sent out 6 pistons and rods and i got a box to fit, laid out a coat of "great stuff" on plastic, laid bag'd up pistons top to top then sprayed more "great stuff around em...they were sealed in. Same with crank which was shipped separate.

if it was packed right, it would just be a crappy crank to deal with insted of one main in atlanta kicked under a table
and other parts spread along the route and a crappy crank

Boy i'm glad is did'nt buy any parts from that guy, talking bout throwing you under the bus, dang country step up to the plate. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets see if the shoe was on the other foot how would it feel, you would be squealing like a stuck hog.
 
BAD dEAL!

I don't know country but I do know Mike Booher. He's always been a great person to buy parts from and always tells the truth about the parts that he sells.
This reminds me of the time I loaned money to a guy. After a long wait, no money, he then says that someone owes him money and I should get the money that he owes me from this other guy. Thats the same thing that is going on here. You just don't do business that way!
I probably should just stay out of this but I've had this SH!T pulled on me before so I feel for Mike.
