Anyone actually watch this show??? These guys are totally clueless. I just saw the kid buy a Ford 351M and say it was a better engine then the FE 390 his dad wanted to use. It's a 2bbl 351 and the guy said he bored it out to a 400ci!!! How far do you have to bore a motor to get 50 cubes?!?!?! I can't stand shows that promote stupidity!!! Now I know where the idiots that come up to me at cruises and ask where I got the "whistlers" to make my 350 in my Monte SS sound so cool?

Being in the automotive restoration buisness and completing some very nice high end resto's, these shows really bring down the repretation of the industry. These shows make it appear as if retoration work only takes a few weeks when in reality it may take 6 months to a year or more of continuious work for any type of acceptable quality. Not to mention allowing time for the materials to dry and actually stabilize before you conintinue applying more materials and finish paint.

I've watched it have to agree. Some of the things they do are ridiculous.. Although I did like the Barracuda they did with the push button trans. The paint and interior were probably crap, but it still looked sweet!

Haven't seen it but the 351/400M series of ferd engines used the same bore but different crank. All you'd need to do is switch cranks and maybe the rods and pistons.

I know that...but they said they "bored" it out to 400. So now I'm gotta hear some idiot argue next summer that he's gonna bore out his 351 to 400. It teaches idiots how to be bigger idiots. I'm gonna take my 283 and "bore" it out to 502....yep saw it on TV.

Keep watching Bruce. These idiots take very nice cars and try to hack them together in 2 weeks...with a $50 budget and then auction them off to some poor guy who is probably tragically killed in it or even worse!!! These build a car in 7-10 days shows are totally bogus. Overhaulin' had to change their entire structure due to the cars showing signs of being rushed a year or two later. No more 7 day builds...but don't worry...these Goons will keep on taking perfect cars out of the junk yard and turning them into cars that should be put out of their misery...and it's all on TV!!! and we pay to see it!!! I watch a bunch of these shows as they are often entertaining but, it truly pains me to see these people hack cars up or half-a$$ the jobs they do.

That includes all those experts, (desert car kings, wrecks to riches, fast and loud, counting cars, muscle car, etc...)
Sometimes, I do get some good info but, like you say, these shows really do not show what it takes to do things right.

Sadly, then you have idiots who expect a car can be done for the aforementioned $50 budget and 7 days to do it all...
So people with "real restorations" that have countless thousands invested in their cars are considered out of line for asking a bunch of cash for their cars when, according to the tv, it shouldn't have cost anywhere near that.
