New knock sensor. Borrowed a torque wrench for 14 inch lbs. It never clicked so I kept tightening. Quit and found that the wrench doesn’t click, so I’ve gone way past where it should have been tightened. Sensor had some red loctight on the threads. Can I back it off & tighten it to specs or should I try again with a new one? Don’t want to have to get at it again. (can’t run any tests on running engine. too many parts to install first) Thanks.

Not sure I buy that. Unless ya went crazy on the over torquing. That’s mainly for grounding(the sensor grounds to the block).
It’s nothing more than a microphone that listens for certain frequencies.
Loosen & retorque. See how it goes. Worse comes to worse buy a new one.
