Well, F me ! I'm not pissed for getting the ticket so much as for all the other details in getting it. I guess I'd feed better if I'd have "earned" it a'lil more than i did. Hurrying back to work is such a lame ass excuse. :) It'd be more of a trophy for say.... a smokey burn-out or racing or something.... (not that I'd really want those tix either) but you know, 64 in a 45 (country, back road) this is like winning in the Special Olympics.
Plus, I've only ever had 2 other speeding tickets in 27 years of driving, so this pisses me off to spoil what i think is a pretty good record considering what i drive or ride in the past...... i'm so lame !

True enough. I blame the GN. 120 seconds prior to this, i was saying to myself just how damn well this big boat handles the curves at speed.

Dam Tori. And you drove that boat from Fl to Cali and no ticket! That sucks bro.

I know right !!! It's facts like that, that piss me off. ;)

Well at least you were driving a nice car. I got a speeding ticket in Florida driving a rental
 Oh and I had to listen to the wife about how lucky I was not driving the Buick:p

Every time I've ever gotten a ticket, it was some bullsh!t deal that didn't warrant a ticket.

Every time I've gotten a warning, I was doing something really stupid and I genuinely deserved a ticket.

Net gain IMO. I've been given a verbal warning for what should have been reckless driving (I wasn't even in the damn car! Driving from the roof!) yet I've found myself standing in a courtroom defending a misdemeanor for not putting a dealer tag on a new truck at work.

Did the cop know what kind of car it was?

Strangely enough he came back to the car and asked "what model is this" ?
With the thought of down playing the situation, and not really knowing where he was going with his question, i answered " Regal "

Get yourself a good radar detector. I got a 9500 and it's payed for itself multiple times. Just don't buy a cheap one :-p

Ya, i think that's a good idea. They are illegal here in CA., but that won't stop me. Any suggestions ?

Nah only the laser blockers are illegal. I'm in California too. I have a escort 9500. It's got a gps that stores false alarms after a couple passes so your normal drives it doesn't beep unless.... but all the expensive ones I hear are good, either the escort or the valentine. I used to have a cheap cobra and I refused to use it cause it was so annoying.

Got one this week myself. Haven't had one in over 30 years but the bastard was sitting on the side of the road at the bottom of a hill. The guy in front was pulling away from me but he nailed me instead. I'll be taking it to court and hope this only costs me a couple of hours at work.

Beltronics RX65. Super sensitive. Picks up Ka, X, K and Laser a 1/2 mile away.

My wife was late for work and got nailed for 45 in a 25_zone. Cop walks up and tells her how fast she was going and she looked at him and said "I didn't know this car would go that fast!?" He took a step back and looked the car up and down/side to side and looked at her and said "Ma'am.......these cars are known to go ALOT faster than that!".
She was driving "her" 11 second GN. LOL....

Sorry bout that. I know the feeling. I got $900 worth of tickets last month in one pop. I wasn't in my GN. My car had out of state plates so he cited me for that. That alone was close to $600. My license address didn't match where I lived & he cited me for that too. Amongst other things. You could tell he was just being hard on me. I went to court & the judge dismissed it all. That makes you think what was the purpose behind all that. Issue tickets for petty things just to have judge shake his head at court as to why I was there. My record is super clean too! Bottomline, the cop didn't have to do that.

uuuugggh, that's ugly. Cops can sometimes be real A-holes. Glad it worked out for you. That had to be a good feeling.

Cops have turned into collection agents for the county, city, state for the most part with ticket writing. Of course they hide it with " Its for safety".

Sorry about the ticket.

It brought back an old memory of when i first bought my new 87 GN. A few days after owning it. I got into a race with a 70 Chevelle and as my luck would be we passed an unmarked police car,we didn't know it until he came up and pulled us both over. I had to appear in court for that because of the speed i was driving. And the cop told the judge that he had to shoot the radar out of the back window because we went by him so fast. That wasn't a good day for me.
