I made it to the dyno today here is my combo. What do think you?
4.1, stock P&P heads, 70mm throttlebody, accufab doghouse, te69 turbo, 3' TH downpipe, 83#inj., aeromotive 1000 fuel pump, erson cam, ect...
I ended up running 24# of boost with 25 deg. timing I would of liked to run more boost but ended up running out of injector. This was in 83 deg. temp. and fairly humid out. What do you think it will do with a bigger turbo & injector and on a cool day? 500.3hp & 469.2trq. to the tires what does that equal to the flywheel with a 400th?

The cool thing about it I did 8 pulls and did not recieve one knock count I have the logs to prove it. E85 $2.54 gal.

I knew it was up there in hp. The couple rides we took were very impressive.
Now only if it would hook, wish my old lady still got that juicy.;)
This is a bad mofo.

IM just jumping in on this one so I can watch it...

I put 4 gallons of e85 in yesterday and I could definately tell the car was happier. Next time Im home Im going to empty the tank and put in a 75% 93 and 25% E85 mixture and turn up the boost and go from there. I had a tank full of 87 in there that was winterized, but the 4 gallons of e85 brought the KR down a crap load... I hate only getting to drive my car once a month.

I would be insanely stoked to get away with 20lbs of boost on pump gas for only the cost of my time to retune it all. I just cant throw 600$ at a methanol kit right now, so this would definately keep me happy. I got too many toys thats for damn sure...

I see more people are getting it ;)

I talked to a TurboBuick guy not on this board that wa running 25psi @ 25 degees of timing. Stock motor. E-85 is for real.

I need to get my 83s installed, I've the got the new chip from Eric.

Tom- your just tickling that motor using E-85, get more injector :D

That is great! What mods did you do to your fuel system? What do you use for an o2 sensor?

can you use the stock fuel lines with e85 will it corrode them?

Even if you can I'd upgrade the lines anyways, E85 needs a LOT of volume. Notice how 83s only carried him to 500HP. Then think about how far they'd have carried him on gasoline. Regardless, nice work get some 160s in there and keep going!

Aeromotive 1000 pump, fuel cell, -10 feed, -8 return, Lc1 wideband.

Has anybody tried the new 120# injectors from racetronics?

Flywheel horsepower is usually up to 20% higher than rear wheel hp due to driveline parasitic loss. So probably up to 600hp flywheel.

You can't compare E-85 to gasoline or even Race gas for that matter. You put E-85 in a car, use the same timing, boost, etc and change nothing but fueling and you make more power/ torque immediately. In fact E-85 is alot more forgiving than gas, so much so that you know have to worry about breaking the engine before knock occurs. :D

Going to bigger injectors and better fuel lines is a small price to pay to able to use the same setup and get at least 20% more power even more safely than you did before..all the while having a very clean burning engine. We all know how these cars dirty the oil quickly, anything to help that is an added plus.

No apologies to the race gas or alky guys but E-85 is the future of real power at an affordable price. Alky is affordable but the power you can make will be less period!! I know of plenty of people that have now taken their Race gas out or removed the alky injection system in lieu of E-85. Its hard to get in most places but once you run it you will see, its that simple.

TOM Did you buy chance notice how much your EGTs drooped from before without E-85??

Yep thats sounds about right. Alot of people that run E-85 in turbo cars have hot lapped their car at the track with consistant back to back to back runs. 2.33 a gal here

They just announced 2 E85 pumps will be going in CT in the Manchester area soon. I hope they put a lot more around here. Ill convert a lot of cars if they do. Aeromotive is about to sell a lot of pumps.

So, are you saying its possible to make more power from E85 then you can on an all out tune for C16?

Yes we are going to see alot more pumps in the next few months. This is great news for us Turbo guys.

I have to say though. I've been running E-85 for 6 months and the ol Kirban In tank pump is doing fine but once I upgrade..Areomotive all the way :D

BTW: Most manufacturers are looking to last part of the year to have their UL for E-85 pumps. They can't really sell them until they get that desgination. Walbro says probably late 2008 until they offer an "E85" pump.
I believe Bosch has one in the works or is already here.
Stay tuned.....

Thats a bold statement.

Thats exactly what I'm suggesting.

Do u have proof to back that up. A local discussion around here is not in agreement with that and also about the cost factor. The fact that U have to burn more of the E-85 as compared to straight 93 Alky negates the assumed cost savings. For example it may take 1 gallon to drive from point A to point B using 93 octane at a cost of $3.40 a gallon. That same trip using E-85 will cost u $3.43 because ur consumption of fuel will be about 1.3 gallons. (Assuming ur getting E-85 at 2.50 a gallon, 1.3 gallons=$3.43) So yes U can run higher boost, but that will require even more fuel with E85 which again cuts into the assumed savings, maybe even putting U in the red compared to 93 and alky. Those are my numbers check em out and let me know if Im wrong.
