Factory tach pegged out at all times

1987 t-type w/ analog speedo and gauges except tach and turbo digital bar graph typt gauge and my tach has always been fully lit at all times pegged to the max turbo is cool works fine any suggestion on what to check bad gauge? a wire not hooked/unhooked improperly? I've had car since 2006 never worked right now I would like to see if there is trick to fix.

common prob with these cars there's a guy over at caspers elec that fixes them check them out

Check to see if the two wire behind the alternator are plugged together if they are disconnect them.... one is green
