Ok, tonight is the first night I was able to test my new powerlogger. I made 3 runs down a back country road, but only have one log.

I guess apparently when you record a run, you need to save that log because it gets deleted the next time you try to record?

Anyways I have zero idea how to post the data log on here so you can review it. if someone can please show me how this is done (in layman's terms) I'd appreciate it.

Ok, I encountered some mild knock...the worst was 1.6 degrees. All three times, a random number of 1 point something occurred out of nowhere and then slowly backed off a little until zero. I know that's probably not much to be concerned with, but I wanted to post when the knock occurred, in case if you see something. It happened 3 times.

Below are the stats when the knock occurred:

2nd Gear
1.4 Degree's Knock
20 PSI
22.9 Degree Spark Adv.
10.92 Wideband AFR
4150 RPM
40 MPH
.815 02 mV
11.1 ECM AFR
12.9 Ignition Voltage
25.33 Injector Pulse
87.5% Injector Duty

3rd Gear (this happened .499 seconds after the 2-3 gear change)
1.4 Degree's Knock
21.2 PSI
23.3 Degree Spark Adv.
10.87 Wideband AFR
4300 RPM
55 MPH
.799 02 mV
10.7 ECM AFR
12.8 Ignition Voltage
25.33 Injector Pulse
91.3% Injector Duty

3rd Gear
1.6 Degree's Knock
24.9 PSI
21.2 Degree Spark Adv.
11.30 Wideband AFR
4425 RPM
81 MPH
.748 02 mV
10.4 ECM AFR
12.8 Ignition Voltage
25.33 Injector Pulse
91.3% Injector Duty

Of interest I have a Turbo Tweak alky chip which is 23/21....I thought the 21 degrees was 3-4 gear? Yet when the trans shifted it was still at 23.3 degrees timing...what's up with that?

Given what I have posted, what can you tell me? I'm guessing this is a pretty fat tune with some false knock? Or can you point something out I'm missing?

Do you need more info? I can post it.

Thanks in advance.

set the quicksave filename to something like 'first boost test'.

then when you record a log, if you want to save it, hit F5 to quick-save it using your filename, with a number that increments each time you save.

If the quicksave filename is really descriptive, then you wind up with a collection of files from your tuning that are easy to go back over.

Thanks will try that...in the mean time how does it look above?

OK, I'll add my opinion for what it's worth.

2nd Gear
1.4 Degree's Knock
20 PSI
22.9 Degree Spark Adv.
10.92 Wideband AFR
4150 RPM
40 MPH
.815 02 mV
11.1 ECM AFR
12.9 Ignition Voltage
25.33 Injector Pulse
87.5% Injector Duty

Above:Things don't look too bad for second gear. You might want to pull a degree or two of timing to see what happens to the knock, if you can in that chip that is.

3rd Gear (this happened .499 seconds after the 2-3 gear change)
1.4 Degree's Knock
21.2 PSI
23.3 Degree Spark Adv.
10.87 Wideband AFR
4300 RPM
55 MPH
.799 02 mV
10.7 ECM AFR
12.8 Ignition Voltage
25.33 Injector Pulse
91.3% Injector Duty

Why, when shifting into 3rd gear did your timing go up????? it should actually go down. I'd setup your 3rd gear timing to 20 max, and your boost is creeping up a bit, but not bad yet. WB AFR looks better. Ignore ECM AFR.

3rd Gear
1.6 Degree's Knock
24.9 PSI
21.2 Degree Spark Adv.
11.30 Wideband AFR
4425 RPM
81 MPH
.748 02 mV
10.4 ECM AFR
12.8 Ignition Voltage
25.33 Injector Pulse
91.3% Injector Duty

Now your boost is too high for only running alky(IMHO), especially since your WB AFR is now too lean.

Of interest I have a Turbo Tweak alky chip which is 23/21....I thought the 21 degrees was 3-4 gear? Yet when the trans shifted it was still at 23.3 degrees timing...what's up with that?
That's a very good question. Need to ask the chip maker.

Given what I have posted, what can you tell me? I'm guessing this is a pretty fat tune with some false knock? Or can you point something out I'm missing?
Could be false knock but your WB AFR looks pretty fair on the first two instances above, but not in the last instance. You should try to keep the WBAFR in the high tens when running alky and full boost, etc.

Thanks. I need to know why is it I cannot open my powerlogger files?

I keep getting an error message of:

Acrobat can't open "file.2.dat" because it's either not a supported file type or because the file was damaged.

Also I did another run and lost the file but it was 20 degrees outside and I got 1.1 kr with 18.7 spark advance at 23.4 psi of boost at 11.59 afr....and then it went up to 2.1 kr and the spark advance was 23.3 at 21.4 psi with a 11.77 afr. Both of these were done at WOT and the car was still in 2nd gear. Does the cold air interfere that much? Maybe I should add a little fuel? Fuel psi seems to be ok.

Dave I'll try your suggestions and see what happens. Thanks.

EXACTLY HOW are you trying to open them????? Explain in detail and we can get you going in the right direction.

Here's the button for opening a PL file:

The PowerLogger is not set up for double-clicking on the log files. But with the latest versions you can open the PLC program and drag logfiles onto it.
