it was a hot one again out there.. didn't get my frist run in till around 11am.. off the trailer in the heat the car pulled a 1.46 60ft 6.18 113.5mph 1/8 and 9.65 at 139.76

the track manager didn't like this due to the event being limited to 10 sec or slow.. i talked to him for 30 minutes and he let me keep my pass if i would slow down :D ..

my second run was at 2pm and the outside temp reading was 100*.. the track was really slippery so my 60ft was 1.52, my 1/8 slowed down to 6.31 at 112 and i slammed on the brakes big time and set off the lights at a 9.96 at 120mph..

my day was finished after that. Plus, it was to damn HOT out there so i went home..

Good stuff Mike. Its a great feeling when there is more left on the table. You are improving on every outting. CONGRATS BRO!!!!!! YOU ARE FLYING!!! Check out this thread I started on T6p board a year ago for the Top 109 motors in the 9's. You are in the top 10. Very impressive. Cause Bamford, Kerney and Roy Gracia are listed twice. TSM leader board times - Page 6 - t6p.com - Turbo Buick Regal Resource
Come on guys, where is the LOVE out here?????? 44 views and no congrats????? Tough crowd.

Awesome times, I was gonna head out but couldn't see to wake up before 11 haha

Congrats Nordy

I agree !

Nordy. your running way faster than expected,
and still staying together, very well done,
I have to admit, for an east coast guy, your alright !
besides , your a west coast guy now anyhow !!LOL
congrats !

Congrats to all involved on this. The East coast does have some very fast cars out there, and now we have the honor of having one of theirs out here.

I already congratulated Mike in person (actually on the phone) but one more time can't hurt. Great times especially in the marginal conditions and heat at CA speedway!! Once you get the cage installed and a license the weather will be cooling down and who knows what could be in store. Keep up the good work!

Haha I just noticed the timeslip, you have nearly double the MPH and half the ET of the other lane

Mike,
Great runs! Sorry for the late response, I have been dealing with some health issues with my parents. I was curious, what was the reaction of the track officials? It should be a fun time at the West Coast Nationals this year. Again great runs and it shows what can be accomplished with hard work and perseverance.

Thanks guys.. The track manager was very cool, he would have let me run another full pass if i had my NHRA 9 sec DL.. he told me to slow it down, i did my best but couldn't stay out of the 9's.. i didn't want to go deeper due to him giving me a break. Here is a in car camera of my second run, i slammed on the brakes big time and dropped 20+mph in a short distance.. (side note you can hear the header leak big time LOL)

YouTube - Mike in the Nines

the car is getting it's cage done in 2 weeks, and i'll fix the header leak once it gets back..

thanks again everyone..

AWESOME Job, Mike!!!

You got into the 9's (deep 9's) with no problem. You'll be in the high 8's soon!

Awesome Mike! Nice Video... Think it's time to pull the motor and check everything bearings etc.?

Why distrub a good running piece. If the oil pressure is good and there is no noises, I would leave well enough alone. Freshen it up during the at the end of season.

Thanks Mike

excellent video, comments from track official is great!
more?

Don't get me wrong! This motor is amazing! Anderson did a great job, but if you only new how many low 10sec runs where on it before these amazing 9sec passes started happening. I think you would be saying the same. ;)

it doesn't need it.. there are some motors out there that don't need rebuilds every time after a run or season..
