Something else to try as well.

1) Go to Internet options and delete browser history for good measure.....
2) Go to Manage Add Ons and click Tracking Protection
3) You will see Your Personalized List ...Right click and enable it!
4) Double click Your Personalized List and another window pops up and click Automatically Block and click Ok.
5) Now go check your IE........

This is apparently a very common problem and unfortunately its ad related.

I did both and now that seems to have worked. Seems really fast now also. Thanks for helping with the problem.

:( :( Grrrrr!! Tried those. no help.

Does seem to run faster though. Other sites are also a lot faster.

Well, to be the bearer of bad news, its ad related and as ads pay the bills here, there isnt a lot I can do. FWIW, this is happening to me all over the place so whatever is inserted in these ads is a widespread implementation because I have the problem pretty much everywhere.

Maybe its time to look at a subscription based model so people can opt out of the ads.

That's cool, A HUGE thanks for all your efforts Jay!!!!! I'll survive! I'll use IE for everything, and jump into Chrome to visit here.

Well you got an older "intern" Aj but at least you got more than I do.:p Jay's married now with a pretty decent lady that has his same interests.;) I'm just old old drunk that needs to sober up and find a young chicas to have some fun with. Any volunteers that are willing and younger than I am?:D

lol........ no....... i happened to get into the van that had "free puppies and candy" written on the side in shoe polish.... rest is history.

Well, for you charlie.... I know just the lady. please come on over and i will help you bag that cougar, provided IT GOES WITH YOU!

as for Jay, if the intern idea is out.... then we need a to find a "Work for GN Knowledge" person to lend a hand!

My wife and I both work in IT.. the last thing we want to do after hours is look at a PC. I try to set aside some time every night to work on this place. A lot of behind the scenes stuff goes on here people never see.

Sorry, multiple click issues still here. Maybe I'll investigate upgrading to IE10. I'll go check on my wife's desktop (IE10) and see how it's doing on here.
I have very little luck using IE7 at work. I can get on the home page but can't navigate further even with mutiple clicks. Matter of fact it won't let me leave the website either and I need to open a new window to navigate to another site.
IE10 on my 64 bit home computer reacts different. I can navigate but takes several clicks. Tonight its acting up worse to the point were I need to click a dozen times to get it to the forums of back to home page. Problem is very inconsistant. It is starting to become unusable.
FYI - don't have Google account but have it in my toolbar as a search engine.

My iphone still works good though...

Thanks for the effort Jay.
Along with the double clicks I have to do in order to open a page I can not view pics. I have to click twice on them and the pic comes up but then minimizes right away. They won't stay up for me to view..

FYI, I do NOT have a Google account or Google menu bar or Google anything on my computer.

This happens on my work computer and my home computer although the pics do not even try to open up on my work computer.

I'm on IE8 at home.

I am no longer getting notifications by email for private messages or threads I have been participating in, unless I log in and see it on the front page. Its all enabled in my settings. How do we remedy this?

Are they going into your spam folder by any chance? I get notifications and I always have and there isnt any way to selectively choose who gets notified. Its hard for me to believe I get them all the time and others dont.

I will have to check into that next time I am at work, I can't access it from home. I will let you know, thanks.

Please do... Myself and the hosting provider have looked into this and the notification system APPEARS to be working as it should.

I have posted from three different computers this week all using different versions of IE. No problems at all...
