Unseasonably warm weather this week, so I take the GN out. Driving for an hour or so, car starts shutting off on decel again. Did it almsot every time i stopped at a light....even when coasting once....no trouble codes...takes all of the enjoyment out of this car..did it a couple times over past couple years, but nothing recent....where do i look now? starts right up once i throw it in neutral and give it gas

I didnt see a post from you last fall saying if you fixed this problem or what solutions you have tried yet.
I would make sure your scanmaster numbers are within spec at warm idle, especially Maf, tps, and iac values. 2nd if it will stay running before drivingthe car, ex) if it will warm up in park without stalling, and go into gear without stalling, before driving disconnect the electrical connection on the side of the trans to test and see if its the lockup solenoid. After you unplug the connector, drive it around as you were and see if it still stalls. If not you narrowed down your problem.

i had unplugged the computer checked to make sure the connection was gd....already had new fuel pump, hotwire kit, fuel filter installed (hotwire kit had bad wire, since fixed), new coil, module...scanmaster numbers look gd...starts, stays running no problem...when driving it in cool/cold weather problem never pops up...it has been unseasonably warm here, but only high 70's...seems it does it when the weather is warmer..only number on scanmaster that looks like it may be low is maf 04-05

Try unplugging the trans connector and driving it around. Lasst year my lockup sol in the trans would stick when the fluid got hot and I went over 45..would try to stall when i slowed to a stop, bc the Sol doesnt unlock as it should. Unplugging connector is how I diagnosed it. Its also easy to replace while changing trans fluid/filter.

its worth a shot...had tranny rebuilt a year and a half ago....not too many miles but as frustrated as i am ill try it

That low maf number will give you problems. Try a known good unit.....not a rebuilt

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Turbo Buick

I was thinking about my MAF going bad. When it was good the number was a solid 5. When it crapped out I got alot of jumping 4-5. just my experience

Mine would do that when the IAC took a dive. Watch the setting on the SM during deceleration and possibly do the reset procedure.

My car did that for a month, I messed around with everything. turned out to be my brand new LT1 MAF (reman). Ordered a new one from GM and has been great ever since. I would just pull to the shoulder cause I knew it was going to stall lol.

Mine started to stall at stop lights and signs, I had a bad MAF. After installing the LT1 MAF and Translator, it ran great.

Have you done the torque converter clutch solenoid check? Two years ago my car was stumbling while I slowed down and stopped. If the tcc solenoid doesn't release the tc it will try to stall the engine.

To do this get the car warmed up and drive at 55mph and maintain that speed. While using your right foot to hold the pedal take your left foot and press the brake pedal just enough to get the brake lights to come on but not enough to actually slow the car. If the rpm increases your tcc solenoid is good but if the car does nothing then it is more than likely the problem. To double check it put the car in neutral from 55mph and use the brakes to come to a stop. If the car runs fine your maf is good and it is definitely the solenoid.

The tranny has to be warm to be able to do this check properly. So drive it for 15-20 minutes. It beats pulling the pan and hoping that is it. While I had my pan off I installed a drain plug.
