Dat was ugly.... Yanks need some better pitching. I really don't care who wins but Id like to see a team repeat. Proves they really are the world champs vs. just being good that year.

wish full thinking

VERY wish full thinking my friend! Cliff Lee is a machine!!

PHILLIES 6

YANKEES 1

Tomorrow you have that bum pitching so that should be in the bag as well! :D Oh and to knock the Yankee's down a little more.. the last 6 teams that won the first game in the world series won it all!! Sorry NY but you guys can always come down and enjoy our parade! :D

Put the pipe down and it will all be clear to you who is going to win this series! :D Oh and I was wrong on my stats. The last 11 teams to win game 1 won them all!

On a serious note.. NY fans are the worst I've seen ever after what they showed tonight. As soon as they were down and things were looking grim (8th inning ish) the people all started to leave!!!! I've never seen anything like that. Your friggin team is in the WORLD SERIES!! hello!? You show respect for your team making it all the way no matter what the score and keep your a$$ in the seat till the END and cheer on YOUR team for making it that far show the respect people! That's what we do here. No matter what the outcome we stay to the end when your in a game as big as the World Series! That was a sorry display of a Yankee's fan tonight. Sad. I guess that's why just about every ball player we get say they have never seen fans like the fans here in Philly!

this whole playoffs has been difficult to watch... i hate all cali teams, the yankees are the devil and well.. philthy is philthy. it pains me but i hope philthy comes out on top.. i hate the yankees that bad. i dont have state pride like some that are saying "keep all the titles in PA" thats just gives douche bags like our governer a bigger head. I do like Philly players thou.. so its not all bad.. Lee's strike out pitches in the 9th were just NASTY... props to manuel for leaving his starter in... most mangers act like arms fall off after 100 pitches.

Phillies in 4? I hope so.

talking about Worst ever fans here is a good example of a classless Phillie fan.

Fluke? Ok, you're an idiot!

You guys won how many in how many years????
As Yankee fans its our birthright to win the World Series, getting to play in it is not enough, but I understand if its enough for you poor, life long tortured Philly fans. Wow now that I think about it, you guys are just like bitter Met fans.

On a side note Am I the only one that has a problem with the constant super close ups. You can count the pimples on these guys’ faces. Because of this I haven't watched too many games in the last few years, this year I have only watched the Yanks VS the Mets and the play offs but in all seriousness I rather listen to game on the radio then watch all of these close ups of Fans, Players on the bench and the celebrities at the game.

It doesn't matter how many games were won in the last few years. We won last year and we've got a good chance of winning this year. As far as birth right it sounds like you've been dipping into some ones pharmacy closet. Don't take the blue pills. LOL You'll end up with a bat in your pants and no one to play with but yourself.:biggrin:

It seems the Yanks brought their little league pitchers last night. Hopefully they'll bring their major leaguers next game. I like Petite, Posada, Jeter, Riveria and a few others but can't stand A-Rod (glad he went hitless till I fell aslep anyway). Yankees are okay but I don't really care if they win.

I like the Phillies though so I will be happy when they win the World Serious! (I spelled it correctly).

Not to hijack the thread but I have to brag a little here. Last night my son's high school team had a scrimage against a team we played last week. We got killed last night 8-1. After the game when the teams were shaking hands the coach and another player for the other team went up to my son and told him they were glad Vince wasn't on the mound this time as we beat them last week. You see last week when my son was on the hill he threw seven strike outs in five innings and held them to two unearned runs. The only real hit came off some guy who turned on a high inside fastball and sent a lazer beam down the right field line over third. I have to give that guy credit because that pitch was really inside on the hands. That hit allowed both base runners to score, a walk and a previous throwing error to first, the two unearned runs. Vince is 15, plays JV and the team from Starke were Varsity, it was a proud parent moment.

Carry on!

The Phillies dominated!!! Half the fans were gone in the 7th-8th inning??? Its not over yet but it doesnt look good for the Yankees. They looked over matched.

The Yankees looked like they were playin who's on first what's on second on the double play when Rollins was saying to Howard tag him

Lee is unhittable right now. Regardless of the final score, Utley, yada, yada, yada, everything else was a sidebar.

BUT...

Lee (12 starts, 79.2 innings) is a rental, a free agent at the end of the year, in his prime, and auditioning for the richest/lengthiest contract he's ever likely to get. You'd have to be an idiot not to appreciate he was auditioning in part for the very team he beat.

Lee will declare free agency within 24 hours of eligibility, unless he and Braunecker (his agent) are indisposed at lunch.

Getting Lee was a coup, no doubt, but IMO he's unlikely to be a Phil next year.
