I've heard some good things about GM's EOS(engine oil supplement) and want to know if anyone uses it? Actually what does it contain?...I've heard zinc and other heavy metals that the EPA doesn't like, so they are not in today's oil. If I use a quality oil like Mobil 1, do I even need this stuff?? Also, how much is a bottle? How many ounces is it? and does every GM dealer carry it?

I've been meaning

to get me a bottle my self. I believe all gm dealers carry it, its about 9 or 10 bucks, if you have lifter noise, I hear it helps with that, also against cam lobe whipe out, I run mobil 1, but heard to add it to the mix is a good investment. As a matter of fact, i'm going to pick some up this weekend now that you reminded me. I believe it is a quart, or maybe a few ounces under. I'm sure alot of members have used it.

I Heard

it is full of zinc, and what ever else oil companys took out for some reason.

Ive been running it for 5 years in every oil change, seems to keep the motor running fine with my mobile 10w40 year round.

Last time i went to the dealership, they were out, still have been for 2 weeks

Good thing i purchase it before i need it.

You can now buy another oil that is up to par, do a search for eos

That's what it is made for.

That's what I had been told. However, I just did a search and a number of people are using it with every oil change.

I did a bunch of searching, and found a place to buy online at a great price. They are selling GM EOS for $4.36 a bottle! You have to add shipping, of course, but I think thats a pretty good price. Go to: www.GMPartsDirect.com and type in part # 1052367 in the search box. Shipping for me was $9.95 regardless of the number of bottles.....so I stocked up! :) I guess this place is in NC, so if you are a resident, you have to pay sales tax too.

Denis Manner is a member of our club in Flint. He was the head of Buick engine development for many years and designed the 455. He says to run it all the time.

Man! He must be a hundred years old! The 455 started out as a 322 in 1953, the original "nail head" Buick. So it had to be "designed" in the late 40s. It grew, over the years, to 400, and 430, and finally to 455, but it was an evolution, never a complete redesign.

Not true.

The Nailhead family of engines are completely different than the 400/430/455. The 400/430 was entirely new for 1967.

nail head

Correct! Nail head is no relation to 455. If you see a nail head you'll know what I mean

Double check that shipping price they usually charge shipping on EACH item sold, 5 bottles 5 shiping charges. I cannot even find it on their site. If you are right that is a great deal
