Too bad they went to the forum format instead of the old mailing list. I really liked the mailing list setup.

Everybody left when Mike opened this shack up. Then when I turned it into a board, too, the rest left. Go figure. I could do a list again, if someone really wanted to help keep it focused. Too old play like that anymore.

Of course a lot of people are mad that its only tech and they can't talk BS like politics, porn, conspiracy theories like the do at some TR sites.

Doesn't anyone (who hasn't died recently) like to write tech articles anymore?

I dont know anything about Buicks anymore. Just ask anyone here.

Someone drilled a hole in my head and siphoned out all of my Buick knowledge.

While we're on the subject of gnttype.org, I for one, value its contents and the corporate memory its articles represent! Thanks Keller for all the selfless, hard work you and your cronies (a positive meaning here ;) ) have offered up over these many years. My thanks and best wishes to you all. :)

Scott- That site is very valuable, i use it for information that may have gotten hazy in my drained brain over the years. Thank you very much for keeping the site up and going, it has ALL the facts.

I have to ask one question thou.

Why is it easier to find the answers if i google gnttype+ whatever, then hitting the gnttype site and not finding it?

Is that the reason for the new updates?

Anything you can do to help the search section?

BW

Scott, I actually have a tech article I have been meaning to add. I did a write up on the modification needed to install a quarter stick - I know there is 2 on the board already, but the one I have uses the stock hardware and has minimal cutting.

The tool that Ken added awhile back to search the site (on the menu bar, and few probably use) pretty much sucks. Their search methodology is antiquated. It will go eventually.

The way Google works is very robust. Its even crawls our forums (or did...) all the time. We can use that technology (or similar) to our advantage for the whole site.

Let's face it: Everything there needs some spit and polish.

And the TR community can always use fresh content, can't it?

The site is there. I imagine you mean the forums?

When they are set up and ready.

Scott, if it makes any difference - i REALLY like the lack of BS, Political Talk, Religious talk and inside humor of your board... and in the past few months it seems like traffic has picked up a lil' also.

That was the first Buick board i was ever part of and gnttype.org was a key part in my learning about Buicks ~11+ years ago.

WE ALL APPRECIATE WHAT YOU DO

Thanks, Aaron. I know a lot of people use the site. Whether they use (or speak up on) the forums or not. The site gets a LOT more use than the forums. I have stats than confirm it, and its not just bots crawling it.

Its not "my" site. This is the work of many people over the last 15 years. Its a community. I'm just the guy who had the idea to start it. People are always welcome to chip in and help.

I use the site on a regular basis. I really never went into the forums much until the last year or so. Great Site, keep up the good work...
