Ok, so is the "X-Ray" mythological? I thought that was a/the prototype?

Also, doesn't this picture here mean that every classified ad for a GNX that says "Never Seen Rain" mean that the ad is untrue?

X-ray does indeed exist. It has also been to my car gathering. It is owned by a local guy named Rick (last name omitted for privacy).

It looks just like the 1:18th scale GMP model and it should as they modeled it off of his car.

He worked for ASC on the GNX project and said he put the first few together.

When they were all done with the GNX's they still had parts left over like intercoolers, turbos, suspension stuff....so he put them all on his white T and thus...... X-ray was born.

Dang, how many prototypes are there?

The pdf file of the Car Craft Magazine article I listed above in post #18 said there were seven prototypes. Don't know if that's true, though. :)

I used to be a "Black Car Guy" when I owned my GN. But now I've become a white car guy after owning the TTA just because it stays clean looking longer between cleanings.

I've been thinking about getting a white T some day and try to make an X-Ray Clone.

Same here, I'm a former WE4 owner. Sold that and bought a white turbo t with the w02 black trim package. I have GNX rims (staying black) and GN bumpers to be painted white and go on the car. I *might* do a set of fender vents if I ever re-paint the car.

That GNX-xray is pretty cool, just too much white for my liking. (ie bumper strips, air dams, etc).

Prototype #1 was stolen and recovered and then crushed....GNX #001 was never stolen and stays at Buicks warehouse except for a few shows a year.....GNX #500 stays at the Sloan Museum.....There were a total of 2 Prototypes made and #547 production cars made which includes #001 and #500 that Buick ownes....

#1 stays in sloan also i have been there many times and have seen it i have never saw #500 there tho.

GNX Prototype History

The total GNX prototypes made, were nine. The first two were running concepts of the GNX program followed by the remaining seven being regular test mules (The source of this information was taken from the GNX book by Martyn L. Schorr). Only one GNX Prototype exists now, and is owned by Brad Conley who also owns the GSX Prototype. The above post made by 1987BuickGN has the link to where Brad is talking about the GNX Prototype.
