Well i think im gonna try and put an intercooler on my 85 GN here soon. Im going to make my own kit and was wondering how you guys relocated your throttlebody? What about detent cable problems since i know the TB is gonna have to be moved some. What kinda problems am i gonna run into and what are some possible solutions? Thanks for any help and pics would be great.

If you are going to use the hot air intake its not hard took me 1 hour to do the setup which i made and it was easy... the hardest thing was putting in my front mount in because of its size. As far as the tb goes if you use the hotair intake you dont have to deal with the mess of the detent cable. right now i am running a te60 that hits the hood when you close it :+}

P.S If you have any questions let me know i have done alot of research about it before i did it. Good luck

Yes i was planning on using the hot-air intake. Could you send me some pics of your setup? Especially TB mounting and tube into the intake. You do have TB after the intercooler right? I had saw where running with the stock draw through setup caused lots of drivabilty problems. Any pics or additional info would be great.

How about posting the pics

How about posting the pics for the good of everyone. Since this seems like a fairly popular mod, I think the more reference pics that are accessible at all times would really help the hotair guys.

Oh yeah, I think I will be doing this mod whenever I get the time away from college and my dang job.

Pic 4 pipe going to front mount passengers side near battery i dont have pic of the other side but its the same goes straight back and turns to tb. I never understood why on some setups they ran it near the wiper motor and behind the master cylinder

Sorry for the quality and size of the pics they are taken with my phone,
as for the adapter at the time of these pics it was believe it or not a two inch pvc elbow jb welded into the intake. I did this to see how i liked the setup and if i was gaining anything besides lag but for right now the pvc elbow has lasted a year with no problems due to winter weather i havent done anything with it no leaks or problems this way though.... i am pretty impressed with it i have run up to 25 #s no knock and the car just keeps pulling. I will probably get a metal one welded in to a spare intake and put it on. i will be happy to answer any more questions
