On halloween I found a wallet and after realizing it had credit cards in it I decided to turn it in to the cops. The officer that took it told me that if no one claimed it after 30 days it would be mine.;) $25 and a nice leather wallet and I could throw the cards out. Well it's been 30 days and I decided to see if it had been claimed. Now this is where it gets interesting. I've been at work all day and even worked over because we were waiting on approval on an A/C job that fell through. On the way home I go to the police station and they're closed up since it's after hours. I get in the entrance and hit the buzzer and start talking to someone about claiming the wallet. She has no idea what I'm talking about and calls an officer in to help out. The officer get my license and goes off to look it up. After a few minutes he comes back and tells me it's been claimed so I'm out a little reward. Kinda dissapointed at this point so I asked what happened. The cops called the guy because of the cards in the wallet and he comes in to claim it. My guess is this guy isn't a rocket scientist since he left his weed in in it.:D He gets there and gets arrested for possession so after a crappy day at work this just made me feel really good. One more dope head off the streets for a little while.

did they ask you why you were so interested in claiming a wallet that had weed in it?

When I turned it in they looked through it, not me.;) Didn't see anything other than the cards. The officer was the one that pointed out there was $25 in it.:p SloGN (Pat) was also on the phone with me when I found out what had happened and we both had a good laugh.:D

He lost $25 bucks, gets arrested for possession for tiny bit of weed :( , and wallet changed thru several hands I know what I would tell the judge
Won't aurgue a bonehead going back to pick it up IF it was his:rolleyes:
Was nice of you to turn it in , most people would not

L O L !!!!!:D

You're a good man, Charlie........and even YOU can't escape the sharp wit of Ronnie!!!!

Glad it's not just me, had some interesting things happen while on the phone with Pat too. Ask him how many times he's locked himself out of his house, car, truck, etc... while on the phone with me.

I don't understand how that made you feel really good!
I personally would have hoped I'd found the "little bit of weed" first and then NOT turn it in and save someone a hassle.
I'm not a smoker but that's a bad poke right there.

D

Charlie, you just know when the guy goes before the Judge he'll say
"that's not mine, the guy who turned in the wallet must have put it there !"

It made u feel good that someone got arrested for a small enough amount of weed you didn't even notice? And u went back how many times to try to get the guys $25? Real nice guy! Why not just get ahold of the guy and give it to him?

I left my wallet on top of my truck one day with $342 in it and luckily a lady found it on the street. My number wasn't listed in the phone book so she got ahold of my dad and got my number. She dropped it off at my house and refused to take any money. I went over to her car window before she had a chance to get in and tossed all the money into the car and thanked her for being a good person. Found out she was behind three weeks on her $350 car payment at the time after she sent me a thank you card.

Well first off there was no drivers license in it and just the debit/credit cards. Second and most important, dope heads are dope heads and really don't do anyone any good.;) I turned it in because of the cards and didn't notice any cash in it but the cop did when he checked out the wallet, and he's the one that smelled the dope.:p

Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has them I guess. What do you call a guy that drinks all the time, is he a worthless piece of crap too? You'd be suprised how many highly successful people in this country are "dope heads." You cant always judge a book by it's cover Charlie. If it was legal, I'd much rather smoke than drink.

I've got a neighbor that is drunk all the time, and believe me, he's worthless. He sponges off anyone that he can and his 70 YO mother pays for his rent ect. His "friends" are dope heads and have been caught stealing from him and even tried to steal from me, but only once.:D I think the 30 round clip of .223 going out of my AR convinced them not to try it again.;)

Good job on turning in a lost wallet. I personally couldn't care less if the guy had a little weed. I am not a pot smoker, but the stigma attached to those who do is absurd.

this is why one day my AR will be taken away
Did they call the police on you ? Did you call the police on them ?
I would rather have the guy with the little bit of weed living next to me than a nut case firing off 30 rounds ;)

Not a problem out here, I'm in the country.;) Most of us out here would've done the same thing.:D One of my neighbors is in his mid 80's and a couple of years ago someone tried to rob him in his house. Thankfully his neighbor noticed something off and came over just in time to kill the guy that had gotten in the house. Big suprise here, he was one of the local dope heads.

Pot heads are just going to get more violent now that they have quit making Twinkies and such....
If you ever want to trap any of them Charlie I have found that Honey bunns work the best. Just make sure
you use the glazed kind...They fall for it every time.
