Just wondering if anyone has done this. I've had three stock crossover pipes and all three are spaced differently. Thinking about doing this to get some flexibility.

Instead of "fixing" a 30 year old pipe, use a new TA stock crossover replacement pipe that has a slip joint to compensate for cold/heat cycles.

I had one I welded on but I ended up taking it out to make my crossover line up better

What's really needed is a high pressure bellows

whatever you do, don't use a flex joint that has the steel braiding inside the pipe. That's a huge no-no for turbo cars. They eventually fail and you'll get pieces of steel braid running up through your turbo. The turbo won't win that battle.
