Looking for any stock header picture where a external wastegate has been fabricated.

Here's a pic of my HKS Gate mounted to the RH Poston Header.

Advantages / disadvantages to having it pre turbo as opposed to post turbo ?

On the crossover - you are able to bleed air from 3 cylinders vs. 6 cylinders - where mine is presently mounted.

I *** had *** this gate on the crossover yet it didn't work very well there.

Per advice from Mike (Modern Muscle) I moved it to under the turbo - where it works "perfectly".

Here's another pic of an HKS Gate mounted under the turbo:

For me it is because of the problems in finding a external gate downpipe. I own two external downpipes that do not work for good boost control. I think that off the header will have good overall control.

What if you open the hole on turbo bigger and put a bigger puck on that would help out much better.

I bought one from Cottons about 3 years ago, don't see it on their site now, but you could give them a call.
Works perfect with external gate and dial control. Jack did port out the hole on my turbo before I picked it up from him.

That's what I have done. I have a big puck and opened up the hole on the housing. When the weather clears I'm going to hook up tuner style and see what my lowest base boost is. I have a RJC Boost controller. It does make boost increase simple. My boost will not go below 23psi.

So you have boost creep issues? Or you want the boost target to be lower?

Yep. Rod all the way out. I get boost from 23psi to 25psi though my runs. I think knowing that I really don't have control is what bothers me. I will be running around 26-28psi at the track and most guys would say "So what's the problem?" I had very bad boost creep with my external gate downpipes. Creeping up to 30psi and going.

Is this a high boost actuator? Try it without the RJC contoller. I have had the RJC work good on some combos and have very high boost on others (30psi+ with a stock actuator).

Yes. Heavy actuator. I'm going to try it without the RJC when it stops snowing.

I have had to run a stock actuator with the RJC controller for lower boost on 110 "street gas" and the high boost actuator on Q or C16.

my buddy had this done for him. i bought his car off of him then parted it out and now his whole drivetrain lives in another car now.

Go work on your car or something.. work more on that than passing bad knowledge that you think you know and parrot. Post turbo is a wastegate on the down pipe.. you should know that, but I doubt it.

How about this... I'll delay going back to work long enough, so that you have time to kiss my ass...That work for you?:p
