Well, I finally finished everything tonight! I turned the ignition on and the service engine light started blinking rapidly. So, I pulled the TT chip out of ECM to check for bent prongs or a loose fit, but all was good. I tried reinstalling it, and each time, unplugging and replugging ECM but same thing. Rapid blinking! Meanwhile, I still have my old chip which is for old combination. I figured I'd try it to see if it would generate rapid blinking as well. Instead, it seemed to be working (No rapid blinking that is). Any suggestions? I'm all ears!

I have caspers ground stretcher kit and all grounds in place.

Turned ky on SM just showed 2.1 and screen then went black. Brand new Caspers power and groundwires also.

Check the pins on the ECU not the chip. Also check all main harness connections on top.

Did you install a Powerlogger also?

No I don't have a powerlogger , just SM. I'll go double check pins. I did put my old Joe Lubrant chip in earlier, no rapid blinking with it.

Just checked the pins on the ECU, looks OK. Found another old chip with the markings "SP10B" on it, not sure what it was for. Anyway I unplugged ECM and put that chip in/replaced ECM wire, turned on ignition, SM showed 2.1 for a second than showed------- across the screen.

The chip may have been installed backwards in the carrier?

Didn't know that could happen, I contacted Eric @ TT this morning and he said he'd have to get another out.

The socket in your ECM is worn out. You need to bend the pins back in a little with a pick. Depending on what blank you use for your chips, some are wider than others and if your socket is questionable, they wont seat.

I bet if you push the chip down into the socked and hold it, the light will stop flashing.

The chip can be installed in the carrier backwards. You can't install the carrier backwards.

The symptoms he's having is when the chip isnt making good contact with the ECM. If the chip is actually in the socket and the ECM sees it, different things happen.

Thank you Jay, SES light blinked once then stayed off car will turn over but want start as if ECM/orangewire is still unplugged. Just checked over all wiring and everything seems to be plugged and firm like its suppost to be. Any ideas?
