Held down Right shift key...Now all FUBAR

I held down the Right shift key too long and now my keyboard is all FUBAR. Had to use another computer to type this message. Unable to use CAPS and only able to use the upper characters on the rest of the keys. Tried to change the setting in the control panel...accessablity options. Just made it worse. WTF is the point of this function? How can I change it back to factory settings? Thanks

Try holding it down again. Some computers have a "software" persay that is called stickykeys and is activated by holding down the shift key.

Filter Keys

holding down the shift key for more than 8 seconds turns on filter keys. filter Keys lets you ignore brief or repeated Keystrokes and slows down the keyboard repeat rate. Pressing the shift key 5 times consecutively turns on Sticky keys. Sticky keys lets you use the shift, ctrl, alt, or windows logo keys by pressing one key at a time. To turn this function off just re-peat the process and if need be you can go into the settings and turn off this function all together. But as was stated already a re-boot should fix the problem also.

Thanks...fixed it. This is a stupid function. When it came up the first time I hit cancel and it still messed everything up. Reboot does not help since it keeps the settings. Playing around with the settings made it worse. If you hit cancel it should cancel the actions....right? im gonna get a mac.:biggrin:
