Okay had a little smoke going on here and there pulled turbo off and the impeller (wheel) on intake side of turbo was chewed up exhuast side ok so swapped out with one that was good to go off another car everything seem ok :biggrin:smoke gone boost ok drove about 15-20 miles no hard stuff pulled intake side to see how it was doing and :mad::mad:I SAW THE SAME OLD SH-T AGAIN!!! impeller(wheel) chewed up, now I wonder; is intercooler clogged?:frown: oil line to turbo clogged? :confused:the devil? :mad:Anybody think they can help me thanks:biggrin:

Check the shaft for play. I'm gonna bet the thrust is off and the wheel is moving back and forth.

Well see I am talking 2 turbo units doing exact same thing, chewing up impeller wheel on intake side of turbo and there was no play in shaft on the turbo that was on first so I thought maybe that could be it even though no play in shaft I took turbo off another TR that worked fine installed on car and bam! exact same thing happened to the first turbo so unfortunately I must have something else wrong looking for what it could be doing this to the turbo units.

Either something got in front and into the impeller or the thrust was set wrong. Take the inducer housing off and take a pic of the wheel.

Found problem old stud and nut from 1st turbo must have backed off and was hiding in MAF sensor when put on 2nd turbo sucked it up and bam impeller chewed up and spit out, now I want to try to see if you can buy replacement parts for turbo have tools and know-how but dont know what where and how much for new turbine wheel.

I have a stock inducer wheel I won't be using, but I have to find it if you want it.

Do you need a housing as well? I have all of inducer side but I'm using the hot side for my project.

Not sure how much damage has been done will have to pull apart to see and as far as hot side is fine so I think I'm good on that

Tear it down and see if what you need exactly so I can dig into my stuff and find it for you. That way you're not having to go back and look for more parts later.

Thanks that is the plan just cant do for about 2 weeks about to go out of town on a jobsite when I get time to tear it down i will pm you I guess
