Just looking for some ideas for my honeymoon. The wife-to-be and I don't fly. We would be leaving 11/22/03 and have up to about 8 days. We would be leaving from Massachusetts. Anyone know of some interesting sites or events to see that time of year? We are willing to drive up to 24 hours away but would prefer less if we could find something we would like closer to our homes. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

New york city ? Radio city christmas show ? how about staying at a bed and breakfast and visiting some wineries or something like that or staying at a bed and breakfast and visiting a city near there ? just an idea

go someplace warm.... fla or something maybe cali i think chris had some good ideas, but for me anyway i like to be warm not cold.

Spend those days hiking the Appalacian Trail! I would be a good relationship tester....

Why not go down south? FL or TN. Very near by in reality. I drove from CT to FL in 18 hours and that was with some traffic. Pretty fun drive though.
Since its gonna be fall hopefully no snow why not go to Killington VT? Thats pretty nice area.

What is your budget?

I am pretty flexible with the budget. The less I spend the better but since I only plan on doing it once I am not going to let the cost deter me from anything we would enjoy doing.

Hiking I would like for a vacation but I think something more relaxing or entertaining would suit us better for the honeymoon. Thanks though, and please keep the ideas coming.

Yeah I drove to Florida with her and another couple a few years ago. It took 20 hours and that was after hitting a ton of traffic due to snow in Virginia. That ride is not too bad at all. We are thinking of going to Disney but wanted to see if anyone else had any other ideas. We always vacation in the White Mountains and really love it up there but we wanted to try something different for the honeymoon.

VEGAS BABY!!!!!!! Nothing to do but have fun, gamble a little not much, plenty to see and not very expensive. Lots of really nice rooms and shows. All in good walking distance.

I went to Maine on my honeymoon. Traveled all the way up to booth bay harbor (stayed in York Harbor Maine) checking out lighthouses and eating chowder. Maine is my favorite place on earth, so I'm a little biased, but that would be cool...if you're going in the fall that is..sujmmer is too busy up there with tourists....

Too bad about the no flying thing, as already suggested Vegas is an absolute blast for honeymooners. That's where we went (got married in March) & it was the perfect choice IMO. Tons to do, great places to stay, excellent food & enough entertainment choices to keep you occupied a solid month!

I hear ya on the flying thing.. I hate planes.

I would suggest QUEBEC CITY Maybe with a trip over to MONTREAL & finish off at NIAGRA falls. Back to Mass..

or

Florida is 24hrs straight through.. we did Daytona Beach to Boston in 21 hours for spring break 1981 in a turbo trans am :)

Not having the option of flying will limit you, but there's still enough things out there... Actually, I'm leaving Saturday for Jamaica to Sandals Dunn's River. All inclusive resort, no kids yada yada, should be great.

Take a look into a cruise out of NY or Boston. My wife was very apprehensive about going on a cruise for our honeymoon, I wanted to Cruise, she wanted Disney. We ended up Doing Disny and bought a Disney VactionClub Timeshare, great investment. We've since been on 2 Disney Cruises and she loves em.

Get past your reasons for not flying, jump a plane to Vegas and have a blast. You may even get to see the tiger that decided he want a little sumpin sumpin extra from his gay trainer. Mark :D :D :D

Planes are safe than cars...conquer this fear together ,,you wont regret it .....Get to VEGAS BABY.............

I love the feeling of the plane excellerating on take off. On one flight I was on that was delayed, the pilot really blasted the jets on fast and hard to make up some time. You could really feel the G's. :D

If you don't want to go to Vegas there is Atlantic City, NJ. They have 14 casino now and they also have a boardwalk. Another nice place is the Pocono Mountains. Check out Ceasers Cove Haven. Their alot to do very day and the rooms are very nice. Heart shaped Jazzui bath. Big enough for two. Good luck. Enjoy.
