Got a new set and need to replce them.....the F-Body book says to just to support the engine on the oil pan and to undo the center bolt and replace...sounds simple enough. Is there anything else to it?

i had to pull the front springs out to get to the bolts on the lower part of the mount..if your just replacing the engine side of the mount.you can get to them alright..but its no picnic..i would remove everything in the way to make it easier..and the springs are easy enough to remove..but this is no fun job thats for sure

Front springs? You don't have to do that unless you replace the mounts with the aftermarket polly mounts right?

Not to hard of a jod. Remove intercooler scoop. Remove EGR seliniod with bracket so it does not hit windshield wiper motor when you jack the motor up. Remove clips that hold tranny lines to engine oil pan so you don't bend them when you jack motor up. There are 2 bolts on each mount that hold them to the engine remove plate and mount together switch them and put em back in. I did not remove the springs. But I did not replace lower section of mount.

Figure ons pending 2-3 hrs to do them.

Pretty much same as any other F-body.... :-)

Actually ours are easier as you dont have to remove the lower frame mounts(v-8 f cars mounts are on the frame and clamshell is on the block)

Our mounts are on the engine so if you support it and undo the engine mount bolt(long one) and then raise it slightly and unbolt it off the block.

The pass side one is harder obviously as the darned downpipe might get in your way, might be possible to yank it all the way out the frt too. I did my HnR poly mounts with my engine out of the car.

On no F-body(82-92 for sure) should you have to pull the spring to get ot the engine mounts with any engine combo. If you take the time to look and get a 15mm or 9/6 flex socket you can reach inside the spring perch on the frame and get almost direct access to the nuts that everyone thinks are impossible to get.
(only going to apply to you for poly mounts)

it only took me about 15 minutes to pull both springs, made it very simple to get to the nuts,i was switching from v-8 mounts to the v-6 mounts so i had to replace the complete mounts..just seemed to make it alot easier for me:) i get frustrated easily so removing things in my way help me do things more calmly...im sure with a little patience(i dont posses any)you could do it just fine with the spring in:D

Then it makes sense to remove the springs, I've done a L4 (iron duke) swap to a V8 and remember it was a pain to get to those bolts, or at least it took a lot of paitence :-)
