how does your wife/girlfriend think about your GN/t-type?

Ilet my wife drive my GN the other day, she was afraid to drive it,because she taught her driving skills werent enough for a high HP car as she puts it!. Well after a while,she took my car to work,she calls me back during lunchtime,and tells me while she was on her way to work,every guy was starring at her,honking at her,and5 even ask for her number on several lights She told me she "im sorry babe but you gotta let me borrow the car more often"..(she was joking).

Hmm now she thinks otherwise of the black shiney box!

My wife doesnt think too much of it..Other than its a faster version of the old turbo regal sport coupe she had when we first got married! After driving my old 406 powered Monza and my Impy, she's had it with my cars.. LOL..

My wife wants her turbo car back! Too bad it was the 86 GN that was totaled. She says the superchaged GSE ain't enough kick in the rear. I hope she likes the 85 T when I get finished with the 86/87 conversion.

Well the fact that I never asked my wife about buying the car didn't help anything. The first day she saw it, I was told to get rid of it. The car has slowly won her over.

She (Girlfriend) loves it but has not been for a ride yet, had the motor out of it for the last 5 years. LOL When it was running I let my mom drive it to work several times. She said everone wanted to race her. She told me that if I would hold the brakes on real hard at the stop light and gave it some gas just before the light turned green it would really take off.(She thinks she invented power braking) :biggrin: She was at a stop light one day where the road went from 2 lanes down to one about 300 yards after the light. A mustang pulled up to the inside of her and made several jumps. She said there was no way she was going to let him pass her. When the light turned green she said the mustang never knew what hit him. Got to love a woman like that.

My wife hates it.

Maybe its because when I bought it, I put it in the garage and had intentions of not telling her about it since she does not go in MY garage. Unfortunately I had my 7 year old with me when I bought it and he ratted me out when she came home from work that evening. That was a $26,000.00 mistake because I had to buy her the trailblazer she wanted to keep her happy.

I can't talk about the car, I can't talk about spending money on it, I can't get her to drive it (then she will be a believer), I can't driver her around in it.....yeah, she likes it.

BUT....it keeps me away from the strip clubs and bars - you know, cuz it's a long term project - and THAT makes her happy.

Plus, I had it before I met her.

Every girl I have dated and my ex-wife liked my GN, she did not know how much money I put in it because I would order the parts through my old shop and have them delivered there. I was very fortunate to keep it and my house after a divorce, but thats what happens when people make stupid decisions.:biggrin:

My wife is not to fond of my GN. Partially because it reminds her of an old cutlass she drove in high school, and partly because I sold her Saleen in order to purchase the GN. :biggrin:

The plus side to this is she doesn't wont to drive it, so I will not have to worry about her curbing my new Simmons wheels when they arrive.:wink:

But now she's my ex, and now she claims that the car is just "beautiful" and wants me to take her in a ride in it.....

Like Jbenn911, my wife got to drive my old V8 Monza and the GN. She was scared to death to drive the GN with street tires, but with the drag radials, she is VERY ok with driving the car now. She gets lots of compliments and lots of "can I marry you" offers when in the car. Guys she works with ask if they can drive it around the parking lot.

1 of my "EX" girlfriends had a gambling problem and hated the GN . once we were arguing and she said : everytime you get money you put it in that car! i replied: i put money in this car i get to bring it home, you put money in them slot machines you cant bring them home ! i cut her loose after that.
