How much HP and TQ am i making? and How much is needed to run 10.90s?

How much HP and TQ am i making at the fly wheel and at the rear wheels?
11.74 at 114 mph in the 1/4
3850 pounds
3.42s
26x10 slicks
How much more is needed to run 10.90s?

based on the mph about 450 to the wheels, assuming 15% drivetrain loss is about 515 at the flywheel.

to run 10.9 you will need approx 580hp at the wheels, in which case you will be running a 60lb injector at 80% dc
 
I'm running 112, so 2 MPH slower than your car. Last dyno session, the car put down 370 HP and 425 ft*lbs at the wheels. My car is full weight, hard top, power windows and seat.

Dunno if that helps, but it should give you a ballpark estimate. Kidglok's numbers might be more accurate.
 
I dynoed between 377-403 rwhp 480-545 tq when I was running high 11's at 112-115 mph. (dynojet at Lingenfelter shop in Dallas Tx)

580 at the wheels got me mid 10's with a weak 60'
 
the weight of the vehicle makes a significant difference, david being 3850lbs would need almost 40hp more than a a Tr weighing 3600 to run high tens. A rough estimate for ET wouldve put him at 116mph on a 26" tire, so im figuring the hp based on 114mph, which would be closer to an 11.9 run
 
add 90lbs for the roll bar and harness he will need to install to run 10.90

I Just want to get kicked out for going too fast :cool: So that i can add that to my stack of "cool guy" slow parts on my car.
Yes this is leading up to something.

Can the 10.99s to 10.90s be realistically reached and be a reliable DD with my current set up? Yes tuned by a professional.

If NOT---Approximately how much money in parts would be needed to make this happen? And Yes tuned by a professional.
 
What was your 60 foot on that run? Also what was your 1/8th mile? How much boost were you running? Are you running your tune based off the parameters on the chip or you have tuned it a bit yourself? Got a WideBand?

Timing was bumped up on 1-2, lots of fuel was pulled from 1-2,
Boost started at about 19 and crept up to 24 PSI at the traps. the tune was worth shipt if that. Since then I've fixed and added a few things, 1-Boost control, 2-Fuel pump, 3-Voltage issue (via Volt booster).
This time around i will have the car tuned by some one that knows what they are doing. But before i make that trip i want to already have and install whats needed for my goals or at least have a $$ amount of what it will cost to put together.

yes i am leading towards a comparison $$$ this Set up VS a new direction.




Signature is it good like this or all bunched up together?
 
First thing on the parts needed list is

Whats next?
From past experience of buying too small id probably skip the 60#rs and go for the 80# injectors just in case i decide on playing with E85.

i am trying to loose 100# but i am a fat guy that just can't stop eating.LOL
thinking about a fiber glass hood but thats about it. Come to think of it, its going to get heavier, Ac, power windows, power seat and if i can make them work power mirrors will be coming soon.o_O

200 pounds is about 2 tenths so still shouldn't need 590 to go 10.9x
 
no... he will need 587 to trap the 125 he will need for 10.90

hes almost 350# heavier than my 86
i would only need 525hp to hit 10.99 at 124

oh and fyi david you dont need 10's to get the boot, with the current rules if you run faster than 11.50 without a bar youll get the boot
 
My car is an '87 T-top power everything with A/C I dont remember exact weight but it was almost 3700 with me in it and I am 200.....the only thing is I am running a set of convo pro wheels which are much lighter than the heavy stockers.

Years ago I had my car on the dyno....at 19 psi it put down 430hp and 480 tq Ran the car at the track same boost level ran a 11.54 @116 with a weak 1.72 60' That was also very mild on timing I really think I could hit 10.9's but I honestly dont see the car making almost 600rwhp to do so.

The best thing to do is loose some weight like mentioned....the easiest way is get you some light aluminum wheels for the track....you can drop some serious weight right there!
 
I would get 80# injectors, new chip, change out that stock intercooler for a nice SLIC as its a restriction for sure once looking for 125 trap speeds. I then would mix in some good race gas and turn up the boost to 28-29lbs with a nice aggressive tune. The TE60 will make it in the high tens but you will have to push it a little.
 
David... Here is my honest opinion
Heads...ported! Not some hours tinkering on the head with a Dremel tool
Turbo... Bigger! Or run the one you have at about 35 psi!
Intercooler...Sell it to someone that wants low 12's High 11's.
Injectors... For E85 buy 120's! 10.90's on gas minimum 50's
Converter... Bite the bullet and get a real non lock up.
Tune... Timing and Boost make power! Stop thinking 25 psi and 18* will get you anywhere near 10's
Weight... More boost and timing!!!
Launch... 1.5x or forget it unless you can really carry the mail after the 330' mark.
Fear of breaking stuff... 10 second et' s will break stuff on buget builds,live with it!
