how to convince rich friend to get a pre nup

Here is the deal, the starting wide reciever for the Baltimore Ravens Mark Clayton (number 89) is one of my best friends, he is getting married to a girl that he has only known for 5 months! he is a very devoted christian and says that a pre nup is un christian, i am trying to figure out a way to convince him to get one as i just want to look out for him for the simple fact that he is a very good friend and has alot of money, and i would hate to see him get burned

I look at it like this, if he asks her and she throws a fit, must be a golddigger to start off with. If she says okay he is probably good to go anyway.

I couldn't imagine being a big time athlete and not getting a prenup signed, good luck convincing him!

i have tried to do so, and his response is that if he gets a pre nup then he is saying that the marriage wont work, because a pre nup insists that the marriage wont last

I went out of my way to sign a pre num with my wife ( she's the one with money) to show her I could care less about the money. That paper allows us to live our lives without fear. Well as long as she didn't marry for my comic collection

any woman will marry a professional athlete with money she only knew for 5 months. 1st the engagement ring, then the wedding ring, then the suffer-ring. he's best to get the pre-nep, when he run out of money she may run out of time. what does she has to offer him ? when i was a kid, CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS BOBBY HULL signed a $3 millon contract with the Winnepeg jets, before he saw the money, his wife filed for divorce & cleaned him out. lots of pro athletes go thru messy divorces cause the women want the money. isnt GIANTS micheal strahan going thru 1 now ? i hope this dont sound too harsh, but this woman is looking for a meal ticket & security for life. a fool and his money are soon parted.

I think a prenup is a great thing even for people with very little money. You decide who gets what while you still love each other, then if the marriage fails, you can fall back on the agreement and avoid all the bitter fighting.

Break down his earnings on paper with a CPA - give a 6 month prospectus and then a year and so on..(6 month increments)

Let's say they last a year and a half, he makes $3.4 million. Now divide that by 2.75 - show his his earnings after that and compare it to his outgoing billables.

If that doesn't do it, I wish him the best of luck.
