In charge of a car show how to get cars?

Every year our church has a 4th of July party where we have 1000 people show up. We have a little car show and it has now been handed to me. What is the best way to get cars to show up at this? Usually there is about 20 cars but this is a cool community event where we give away hot dogs cookies chips popcorn etc. All for free. There are no prizes for your car just good clean fun. Ant suggestions are welcome. TIA. Martin

attend other car shows

and put a flyer in the cars there,
also cruise nights, rod runs, etc, hand out flyers to let everyone know.
check online to see if there is a forum for activities ( "so cal culture" is local forum)
check with local vendors for donations for prizes,

Get the local auto parts stores and auto dealerships to push the car show, offering them ad space in the flyers. Also recruit the local Shriners and get them on the recruiting by allowing them to raise funds at the show via drawings and donations. Contact the local media, both radio and TV for public service announcements. Contact all the local body and paint shops, most of those that work there either have cars that could be entered or know people in car clubs ( #1 source) who will bring a strong club following as a show of membership.

1. Tell them it's free.
2. Tell them they will get something for attending.
3. Make sure no other events are scheduled that weekend.
4. Tell them it's Jesus approved!

I did that once. I found out where the locals hang out on fri/sat. I went and pass out fliers. It went over well.

Why not call a few radio stations and see if they would brodcast it under events or there is EVENTS on Craigslist or local newspaper.

I plan on the flyers in car thing but didnt think of auto parts store donations. All these are good ideas. Made me think of a couple cruise ins that are going on I have not been to in years. Now I have an excuse. I have to do well at this. The Pastor at our chuch called me at home last nite and if that dont make your heart skip a beat when the wife says"Pastor Bob is on the phone and needs to talk to you" I dont know what will.
