Before today, I had alot of WOT knock showing on my Knock gauge, especially on the 2-3 shift. I had my mechanic install a new fuel filter, drive shaft safety loop and water pump today. After driving the car 50 miles (hard) I experienced zero knock. Could a bad water pump have been producing "false" knock? I'm not complaining, just curious!

I think you may have had a partially clogged fuel filter. Cost me a headgasket last year.

Yep, my guess would have been the fuel filter. $10 part can cost you big money in the end.

It was definately the driveshaft loop.
