Was rear ended this past Friday. At least this time the guy had insurance. Brought the Truck to a body shop for an estimate. Have not sent it to the insurance company yet. The damage came out to $4500. The body shop told me it was worth only about $3300 and they might total the truck. It is perfectly drivable but you know how repairs add up. Don't know were they got that value. You know damn well you cant buy this truck for $3300. Don't want to get screwed again, how should I handle this?

Do a search in this forum as that has been addressed several times in the last couple months. Basically, if they total it, make them find you something comparable for the price they offered you. If they can't, don't accept it and tell them that the vehicle is obviously worth more if another one can't be found for what they just offered.

Good luck

I don't see why they wouldn't repair it for the $4500 especially if the guy's insurance company is footing the bill for the fix..

Is you neck hurting?

The body shop will fix it for $4500 but the insurance vampires "company" wont pay if thats more than the truck is worth.

Cant play the sore neck card, I'm in the Military, all my bills are paid.
