Helping a friend build a future TSM motor (he doesn't realize it yet).
Was looking for a thread concerning differences in cat and eagle cranks - new and older forgings.
If there isn't a thread already:
Already built an eagle crank motor about 3 years ago, and had not extra machining or issues with needing to chamfer bearings etc.
I've heard weird balance issues with the original cranks from both mfg's. And also needing to chamfer bearings on some of the early cat cranks.
Also have heard of journal thickness inconsistencies in older cranks.
Please chime in if you've had real experience with the newer vs. older cranks and of which type? (confirm or deny what I've read/heard)
