we all like pics, good or bad. Every morning i drive to work i pass my parts cars in my back yard.
post up pics and stories behind your Buick Turbo cars that were abused, trashed, and ended up as parts cars or just plain junked.
I have a 1987 Gn with t-tops (that was)loaded in my back yard that I used for parts. Before i bought it was stripped of the turbo v6 and someone by the looks of the motor mounts put a small block v8 in it  .
it sat for years before the owner would sell it to me,only to discover after i bought it it was rusted beyond repair.looks like the passenger window was rolled down for years.
anyway post up pics, and stories of your "lost turbo Buicks" i find it good reading similar to barn finds.

I used to have a very nice condition 1989 buick lesabre ttype, that i wanted to swap a 32 valve norstar motor into. I was on the LIE going west and the transmission case blew up with tranny fluid all over the ground. I ended up junking it because i didnt have enough money at the time to fix it. The car was mint. One owner car that had records of everything. Even the front fascia was not even touched. I had that car years ago, i dont know where it is now. probably a cube somewhere or was melted down and is now a peice of stamped steel.

Boy I've got a bunch. Only two GNs though. I kinda have a collection going of stuff that I've ran across. I took every picture that I will post here in the following posts.

First is a real deal 82 GN, non turbo. Local guy that I kinda know had this car in a pasture that had cattle grazing as I was taking the pictures. VERY solid rust free car but most of the GN only stuff was gone. Also the VIN and all traces of it had been removed. Could have had it for $300 but had nowhere to go with a car with no VIN or proof of ownership. I forwarded the info to Rich at the B4 black registry.

Next is an 84 GN that was stripped with intention of making a drag car out of it. Owner said it was getting a BBC, then he changed his mind and wanted to sell the car outright. I was told the engine, trans, and interior were in the shed behind it. He was asking about $800 or so for it, but was negotiable. Again, lack of cash at the time and nowhere to go with it. Car still had the 8.5 in it.

Next we have an 84 hurst olds. Buddy of mine bought this car, thought about restoring it but decided it was just too far gone so he parted it. Lightning rods went to a guy on this board. Car had rust to the door handles and had been hit HARD in the front. Hard enough that it tweaked the body shell, eve nthe c pillars had wrinkles. Drove it on the trailer though. Actually drove it two blocks through downtown Kansas City to get to the trailer. The seller still has the for sale ad on his site so I'll link to it for the before we stripped it pics: 1984 Hurst Olds
He still has most of the special parts off the car in the shed.

Next we have a car that was actually bought and saved (by someone else) or so I've heard. This is a 70 Dart swinger 340 4 barrel 4 speed car. Hemi orange with a black stripe and black interior. Original owner passed away and his wife decided it's better to part with it than to see it sit and rot. My family is big into mopars, and we made her a reasonable standing offer, but she got a higher one (much higher than it was worth IMO) so it escaped us. All paperwork and window sticker was in the glove box. Ram air hood too.

Sorry to get off the TR theme but I got another mopar that's too good to not post. This is a numbers matching 64 plymouth sport fury 426 street wedge 4 speed car. Sitting in the yard of the original owner's brother. My dad rotisserrie restored a 65 sport fury 'vert and to this day is still trying to get this car bought. The guy talked about selling it (which is how we got to look at it) but then decided it looks better in his yard than in the hands of someone who will restore it. He now claims that we'll have to wait until his estate sale to get it. Clones of this car go for $60-75K on barrett jackson. It'd probably take that much to restore this car but it's worth the effort.

I'll end this session with a handful of pics from a guy's yard that we visited recently. Sadly a lot of these cars got crushed but the valuable ones were sold. Local guy scored a 68 olds 442 from this guy for $250. I only have a few pics before the camera went dead but he had about 25 cars and 30-40 tractors. not to mention all the misc. iron you see in the background.

As soon as the kids get bigger, I'm sure I'll have more time to spend on them:rolleyes:

Those are some saaad buicks:eek: How can you let 2 bad azz cars sit like that?? I would give my 3rd nut for that gs455;) j/k:biggrin: Well at least a bucket of pee:eek:

INEEDAGN-that 85 would look good for a next project after I get the we4 finished. Next summer seems about right, just enough to drive the wife insane;) . Even so, have no way of getting it here but would make an excellent driver when finished. Hopefully someone saves it!
THat max wedge would be the f'n cats ass!

I wouldn't trade them for much, but my children(14,12,10,5) are more important. The GS was my first car(Bought in '85 after I read the R Lassiter articles in MCR). The T was my first new car(Read: original owner). At least I got them inside now. I have come to the realization I only have about 25 years left(I turned 40 this year) to get them driving and enjoy them.

I know how some of those owner feel. I love to talk cars and entertain offers but they will never be for sale barring catastrophic health issues. It would take an awful big fist of Franklin Bros to pry them free.

None of the cars that I pictured are still sitting there. The 64 is still in the same area but was pushed into the shed behind it. I have more pics and stories to share but they are heavily mopar biased and tonight i'm loading up scrabble on pogo.com so I can beat the wife (at scrabble).

This next one is kinda hard to interpret from the pics. But this is a 39 ford upside down over the back of a 50's ford that has been silted into the side of the ditch, with another 50's car? under that. Also there's a 48 plymouth behind them. Check out how the mud washed into the open door of the ford and buried the door to the handle. Also note the trees growing through them. These cars had to have been in this ditch for 30+ years.

They were pulled out over the summer and hauled to the crusher. I got some of the emblems off them for my collection.

Let's see, where to next....

I know! Let's get some dodge chargers.

Gold one that's basically gone is a 74 that was just a 318/auto car. the blue one buried in the weeds is a 71 charger 500, big block still in it. The other blue one on the concrete I'm not sure of the year but I think 72. 318 car that someone added a rallye hood to. Some of the parts from these cars went into restoring my mom's 73 big block car. Interesting note is the racoon that greeted me when I opened the door to the 71.
