I've started thinking of what zones should be setup across the country. The number of zones and the number of organization representatives for each of these zones. More importantly, who these people will be. We need to come up with a way to enlist these reps. Maybe have a zone come up with a candidate that could be voted on by the zone area participants. Or should the reps be hand picked. What do you guys think?

I was thinking 6 zones.
Northern/Pacific
Southern/Pacific
Northern/Central
Southern/Central
North/Eastern
South/Eastern

2 reps per zone to coordinate with and help organize series events. Maybe more reps depending on how many manufacturer teams per zone there are. All zone reps will discuss and vote on the location for the big Annual Manufacturer's Championship event.

Organization's Website

After we have a permanent name for the organization, I'll start working on a website for the same.

Organization Sponsorship

If and when the organization begins to recruit sponsorship for the organization, no one, or group of, sponsors will be allowed to manipulate the rules. Henceforth, known officially as 'The Rules'. The creative freedom of the participants of the organization will be paramount.

I know I have some momentum going on right now, but my mother just passed away and I think this was some sort of distraction for me so I wouldn't have to think about it. It's catching up to me and I'm going to need some time.

Donnie, sorry to hear,,

I've lost both my parents, so I know how ya feel
my prayers are with you,
anything anyone can do, please speak up.

Sorry to here that Don I lost my Mom last Oct. :frown:

Don,

I'm sorry to hear about you mom. Take time to grieve and be with your family and get back to this when you feel up to it. The idea sounds cool.

Neal

Thank you so much for the sentiment. My father passed away in July and my mother seemed to just deflate when she learned he was gone. She herself was in the hospital when he passed. My brother told her in the car on the way back home from the hospital. Not the way I would have done it, but I didn't have any control over that. We had a very hard time getting her out of the car. She was devastated. My father was in a home the last 2 years of his life and my mother visited him often. She declined so quickly after that. She suffered from neuropothy is what they called it. The doctors didn't know what was causing it. She slowly lost muscle control starting with her legs. It progressed to where she lost swallowing control and had to be fed with a tube through the abdomenal wall. One day before I and my brothers had to put her into a nursing home I took the time to hold her for about a half hour in her bed. Knowing that soon we would lose the chance to communicate with her. We could barely understand her at the time and most communication was with her fingers. One finger yes. A hand wave no. She did manage to speak well enough for me to understand her that time. She said, 'It feels so good to be held'. It tore me up. Please, everyone take every chance you have to hug your parents. Believe me, you'll regret it if you don't. We used to hug at every get together throughout the year and I truly missed the chance to give her a good hug after she was in the nursing home. The night before she passed, Cheryl and I picked out a picture of my mother and father dancing during our wedding, framed it and took it to the nursing home to put it on her night stand. She was awake that night and I showed it to her. I was happy that she seemed to enjoy the picture. I'll never forget one of the last words I over heard my father say to my mother before he passed.
"I'll be waiting for you."

Don - I'm very sorry you hear about your losses, you and the family are in my prayers during this time of trial.

I tell you something and it really hit home during your last post. Actually brought tears to my eyes. Everyone, hug your parents people and tell them how much you love them, I think this is something we all neglect. They will not be around forever and when they do pass, one will wish they had spent more time with them.

It happend with me while working at the US Embassy in Zagreb, Croatia. I was always MEANING to call a little more, email a little more, try to go home during the hollidays, etc. Next thing I know, I receive a Red Cross message saying that my mother passed way...... Worst thing I ever went through! I don't wish this upon anyone, and now reguarly, I ask ALL my Marines/Navy students when last did you talk to Mom and Dad. If they tell me they didn't talk to them in a while, I hand them my cell, tell them to call them and explain the reason behind it.

Sorry for venting guys......I just hate taking life for granted I guess.

Don,
I really sorry to hear about your loss. My mother is also is on a feeding tube with a number of issues and I just put my dad in the hospital with congestive heart failure. It just tears me up.

How many people are still interested in this idea? My main objective is to help out the turbo Buick community. If there's no interest, I don't want to waste my time with this. Please sound off if this interests you.

New organization name idea.

National Independant Turbo Racer's Organization.

Don,
If you have my one and only run on a vid.; I would love to see it. What do you think of selling this idea to Pinks. Having a turbo only all out event.
Jeff

I'm in depending where in the country the races would be held.
a new thread should be started in the lounge about it though so you can get more views & input from all over the country.

Don:
Sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I know very well the heartache and grief of losing both of one's parents so close together. I lost mine the same way. I will keep them in my prayers.
I think that your idea has great merit, and I am sure that something will come of it.
