The effects of selling this site to a conglomerate like IB or VS would probably be the death toll for the Buick community. Forums are a business to them. They dont care about the users other than to keep you happy enough to click ads and they dont care about vendors any further than cashing that check every month. Cant pay? Too bad, you get cut off. Dont like the way the forum is configured? Too bad.. if its making them money, they arent going to change it.

People here really dont understand how well they have it. Thats why it makes me ****ing insane when people bitch here. Ive been on the other side. Ive been the one that had to play hard ball with the vendors, calling to collect overdue advertising money, telling them tough **** when they cant pay and turning them off. Ive been in on the conference calls where it was decided to ban 30-40 people to try to keep the rest of the userbase in line.. yea, you guys have no idea how good you have it here.

Making money from forums requires a focus on making money, not on keeping advertisers or users happy, just keeping them happy enough to keep them coming back and clicking.

Actually some of us DO understand how well we have it, because some of us have tried to be on other forums, for other makes/hobbies, only to realize how good it is here. It's rediculous out there in the real world I keep thinking it's only a matter of time until it happens here. You can hold off a long time, but sooner or later someone is gonna swing through with enough money to make it happen, and no one within the community will be able to match it. It would have been nice if TBS.com was offered to the community, but let's face it, if they were giving in to a rediculous offer, no one else around would have came close to matching it. I hope like hell it never happens here, but understand completely if/when it does. T6P, Ihadav8, and the ol trusty GNttype forums will light up with activity. But this one's always been my internet home.

Shane, your a good, stand up guy! I enjoy this forum more than any other forums I belong to. The only thing that could make this forum better is if you would change over user names on the other thread you started. Oh and by the way I requested to be changed to 2toneNV instead of 2tonewe4!

Forgot to add: I've wondered in the past if some of the repeat offender troublemakers aren't actually sent here with the specific goal of stirring up hatred for the admin and causing general discord for the good of someone trying to buy the place. I can think of one or two specific people you've banned multiple times and several usernames, that keep coming back with an agenda and flat out LYING just to get at you guys. One of them claimed this was all paid for with "dirty" money, etc. Are they waiting for you to snap and then go after you in court? Guess you never can tell. Maybe I'm just paranoid
