Gotcha didn't know that. Will have to get in contact with Eric then. I believe it's in the chip as well.

When you give him the particulars of your set up he will pre-program it and then you can mess with timing and fuel from there. Just be sure you have a copy of the proper version of Scanmaster instructions and follow them to the letter. It's not too hard once you get the hang of it. I'm sure there are some TB guys in your area that would help you learn.

Post this up in the section for your local area.

If you have a scan master post all the readings this will help diagnose the problem also can never have to much info.

Update to this thread. Threw another turbo on my car that I had laying around (bison helped me figure out what it is) ta49 and the car runs an pulls a lot better now. Running down the road wideband reads 10.5 or so. Which I've been reading is not too bad? I don't have a scan master I have a snap on scanner I plug in an read everything and its all within specs only BLM is a little low. Ordering a chip from Eric that will be adjustable

10.5 running down the road, and if not in boost, is either a bogus reading from the wb, or it's really FAT.
Have you re-calibrated the wb in free air?
Where is the sensor located?
Smoke test the exh system, and see if there are header cracks, etc.

10.5 running down the road was in boost about 10 lbs. normal driving with maybe a lb of boost is around 12.8 to 13.2. Yes the wb has been calibrated to free air first. I have the innovative lc1, position is located about 10 inches from turbo. Haven't done smoke test, not familiar with it?

You do not have to reset the ECM...aka...computer after fuel pressure changes it adjust the BLMs after a short drive in most cells.

When getting another chip be sure to verify all mods converter etc so you can have a chip burnt to match what you have....Buying a chip off the board is a gamble and may only match up to your injectors but not much else.....Red's chips are known for being rich and having tip in stumble...Your Turbo Tweak chip should bring you a better idle and drivability...Good luck!! You'll get it figured out!!

I appreciate it!! I'm looking forward to the new chip. Have a local Buick guy who is good with bucks an has a dyno so it's going on that to fine tune the chip even more and see what numbers it puts out.

Just remember, dyno's are hell on cars. Don't get trapped into the" I gotta go for maximum power numbers" on the dyno pulls. That will only wear your combo out before it's time, or grenade a motor that you never got to enjoy. Save the car for the track and REAL time slips.

Use the dyno for tuning, not for measuring d**ks.

There's too many bragging dyno queens out there already.;)

That's not gonna the be case with my car!! I really don't care what it puts up on the dyno, I want it tuned right on a "safe" level. Then ill go to the track an see how it does, but it's gonna be my daily driver. Should be a fun car that is pretty quick.

Now THERE is a good plan! :)

No matter if you built it on your own, or spent your very own and very hard earned money while contributing to our crapped out economy and supporting another guy's business to get to your goal, you don't owe anyone an explaination. Those who disagree are full of Horse Smiles.

The fact is, TIME SLIPS RULE, period.

Good luck to you in the new year, sir!:D:D

I try to build all my own stuff but this tuning stuff is all new to me. So I will be watching close as to what he changes to tune the car and start that whole process. Ill tell you, without this board I would of sold the car by now or put a carburetor on it haha done away with all the electronics.

Thanks, happy new year to you and everyone else on here also!

Tuning these Buicks ( I'm told) isn't so much a "secret", but an art, a"touch"some would say.

I'm the first to admit, I ain't got it. Period.

The fact remains some folks are much more educated and well versed in the application of this particular artistic talent.

Ask the folks in your local group who does the right thing and who does good work, in that order.

Read this board and see who's recommendations hold water and dom't lisen those who call themselves "self tuners"and then post claims they get fantasic results. It's funny. but somehow it seems those results are NEVER to be posted and/or seen. Not even on a real dyno.......

In the end, just be wise and trust that if it's too good to be true, it really is too good to be true.

Ok so I got new chip and still doing same thing as it was before, normal driving wb is showing 12 to 13 idling around 14.2 to 14.9 and when I take off an get over 2000rpm wb goes into the 9s. Now if I let out just a little it goes up to 12, and if I don't then car spits an sputters little bit until the boost comes up (I don't have vacuum in my current gauge but have another gauge with vacuum also so will try that) and then wb goes into 10.5 once boost starts. Also since I've never been in another turbo car does your car make boost just normal driving? Mine doesn't unless I get to almost half throttle then it starts to.

So two things I'm considering now since both chips are doing same and Eric's I've heard are real close.
1) could my cam sensor be little bit out of time either putting fuel too early or too late and it's puddling in intake then valves open and floods it. 2) my external waste gate not staying completely closed letting some boost go by in turn making it run rich.
3) my front mount intercooler is too big for my ta49 and turbo not putting out enough air in low to no boost situations.

Sorry so long, just wanted to make sure I had everything haha thanks again for everyone's help!

Have you looked for or found a well respected TR guy in your area?

Sometimes it just takes a second set of (experienced) eyes,,,,,,,,,

I'm jus' sayin'.:)

I enlisted the help of a well respected TR pro, had him get it right and now I just have him give it the once over about once a year.

I drive her all the time and then go flog her at the track. Then I drive it some more......... It cost a bit in the beginning, but it was so worth it. He taught me a lot, too.

There is one around but I've heard many bad things an a few good things about him so I'm kind of iffy to take the car to him. Might be more as I'm in Orlando Florida? Just know of one so far.

Call Razor from this board for advice on TR guys in Florida. He is a very trustworthy guy.

Update, took it to local Buick guy and he figured out the problem.
1) MAF would go crazy when boost started to come up.
2) injectors are low impedance and ECM isn't modded so he doesn't know how it's still running.
3) torque converter is too big.

The injectors and torque converter were already in the car when I bought it so I didn't know about them. I assumed torque converter was 3000 but he thinks its a lot bigger. So plan to figure that out, just wanted to update this in case anyone has an issue like I did.
