It's maybe 3 years old, possibly 4. It cleans most of the dishes but there are always a few that it leaves residue and some food on. This has just begun recently. It does not drain properly, there is usually about 1" of water left in the sump and a limey residue on the bottom of the stainless interior. I have pulled it apart, checked all the internal tubes, drain tube, spray wands and screens. Everything flows well and is free, clear and clean. I found a youtube video but it was a different model they were fixing. Mine is model 13929. It runs a full cycle and unless someone has a clue, I guess a repair visit is in my future.

Quit washing your dog in there and it should me fine.;)

How far is the water heater from the dish washer? Try running the water in the nearest sink to it until it gets really hot, then start the dish washer.
If that doesn't work, have Eric burn a new chip for it. ;)

Is your drain hose installed correctly? Have you run your disposal to make sure it is clear?

When my washer left water the drain on sink was plugged.

I blew through the drain hose and it flowed air. It is in a big loop beside the machine inside the cabinets as the instructions recommended. I just went a step further. I checked my water softener and it may have had a salt bridge in it not allowing the brine mixture to recharge the resin. The dishwasher only works well with soft water (we live in a state full of limestone). I will let the softener recharge for a cycle and then run the dishwasher again afterward.

I hate service calls - I know everyone has to make money but I just hate it if I can figure it out myself.

we have a maytag with similar issues.
found a piece of broken glass in the drain tube, causing a restriction
and not letting it drain completely.
look close! I missed it 2 times , before finally seeing it.
