Powermaster pressure test guage
Model# J 35126

Purchased from a GM dealership that went out of business. Didn't know that these existed. I bought it recently and I don't own a PM, I just thought it was cool. It comes with laminated instructions. These retail for $525.

$250 shipped

How does it work?
Does it only test the existing pressure in the accumulator ball?

No clue, maybe someone else will know. Supposively works on B bodies as well.

I've watched Richard Clark use his on MANY occasions. It's invaluable for checking several operations of the PM. Easilly detects accumulators going weak, pressure switches going bad, internal leaks, etc. etc.

Wish I could afford this thing!!!

The tool is used to test the accumulator and pump assembly.
You unscrew the pressure switch on the powermaster,
Screw the tool into the pressure switch port. Then the pressure
Switch screws into the remaining port on the tool.
After this you turn the key on so the powermaster will build pressure.
after pressure builds up u can then use the bleeder valve on the tool
To drain accumulator pressure . Basically you drain the pressure down slowly
At a certin point the pressure will stop gradually droping and quickly drop to zero.
At this point the reading on your gauge is the accumulator gas charge.
I belive if its under 200psi when the drop occurs the the accumulator needs
Replaced.
The tool will also help diag. Weak pumps and problems with pressure
Switch.
hope this helps
Matt
