Stay out of the throttle till you get an updated chip and a gauge to put on it....The gauge will help you set the fuel pressure per the chip makers recommendation...Get a Turbo Tweak or one of Bailey's chips, you can't go wrong with either one....Once you have the new chip and gauge installed set the base fuel pressure and see how it is running...If all seems ok you can gradually give it throttle till you see lets say 3lbs of boost....So, if you set base fuel pressure for say 45lbs then at 3lbs of boost you should see 48.....If that yields no knock then gradually get in the throttle to say 6lbs then you should see 51lbs of pressure and so on.....Take a buddy with you to help verify the readings....

Do you know anything about the fuel pump in your car?? How old?? what kind??

It might be a little while before I get this stuff done, but I will post results when I have them. I dont know a lot about the fp, just that it is less than a year old and it is 43.5 gph, so its better than stock but not great

^^^^2 this. Even with good fuel pressure, the old chip is probably a part of the knock cause and thus you shouldn't be checking fuel pressure rise, or even getting on it al all, until the stock chip is taken out unless you are running at least some race gas. If you run race gas though, it'll make tuning for the BL's useless when you switch back to pump gas and will probably foul your old O2 sensor as well.

Bottom line, get a new chip, then start checking things.
