YouTube - GN LED Tail Light Kit

If you haven't already, check out the vid above.....

For me, it seems the turn signal is hardly noticeable when the running lights and brake lights are on.(End of video)

In fact, it seems like a back feed is sent to the inner set.

I also noticed Scot W. has this vid in his signature, but skips over the running lights & turn signal with brakes applied sequence:confused:

I would like to have the running lights extinguished on the left or right outer boards, respectively, during turn signal flash with brakes on.

I realize the running lights are the same LEDS in dim mode.

I also realize this mod can be set to standard operation with a flick of a switch.

Am I missing something? Anyone have this setup?

I am interested, but I don't want to hit trying to turn at night

It's clearly visible when turning. I think ur splitting hairs here. You would have to see it in person I think. It's 10 times brighter then what u have even in its curent configuration.

First, let me say video does NOT do this setup justice.

The turn signal is very noticeable.

No need in shutting down the running lights during turn signal operation. Trust me, when the brake or turn signal lights up, you can tell. :)

If someone actually hits you when turning, it's because they are an idiot who probably shouldn't be driving to start with. ;)

Also, to show you how bright these lights are, here are some pics. My lenses are tinted heavily and still allow the light to shine through very brightly.

I am sure they are bright as seen in stills above, thanks for the pics.

I am concerned only with turn signal at night with running lights and brake lights. Basically - can you clearly see the turn signals cycling during the whole sha-bang?

They are definitely on the short list for my car, but they won't be much fun without sequencing. Which reminds me, how does dmv/cops respond to this mod?

I had the same concerns you did - after putting them on I no longer do.

As far as the cops - a lot of new cars have LEDs so I don't think it is a problem...but that would be up to the cop.

Also, I have received a lot of positive comments on the lights.

+1 on all points. :)

There is nothing illegal about LED lights in factory locations. Put them under ur car or on the inner lip or ur wheels like the ricers do and that's a different story.

ive got them on my car also and have nothing but good to say about them. super bright/ VERY noticable even in the middle of the az summer day.

i have never seen and change in the brightness when the turn signals are on or even the hazards (which look super cool, lemme tell you)

i would recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade the rear of the car to a more modern look, or to those who are just concerned with how bright there 22+ year old tail lights are for safety reasons.

Just so you know, my driveway requires a left turn from a 50 mph highway - many times I am narrowly missed because of someone not paying attention. (Cell phones, text messaging, playing with themselves, etc.)

I want to minimize the risk by maximizing the night turn signal indication with brakes applied.

It would seem to others that I am getting too particular about this, but most replies are, "Yeah, they're great!" with the exception of Silver Fox, no reference to the original concern.

So, I guess the quick question to you current LED T/L T/R owners is:

Do you feel comfortable hanging your a$$ in the road waiting to make a left turn at night?

I swear, I'll let it go after this. ;)

I do believe that they can reprogram the turn signals so they flash all the way across. That is what you are looking for right?? Suggest you contact Scot W as he will take care of you, he has excellent customer service. Surprised he hasn't jumped in here yet. Probably should have contacted him FIRST.

another easy way to eliminate the problem ... MOVE somewhere else if it bothers you that much  :p

I already went to Scot, he sent me to the manufacturer - they stated the fee to reprogram, but no firm answer for my request....yet.

Grumpy, I will not argue with you.

Lou,

I think you already know my answer - no concerns on this. As mentioned by another poster, I will probably have Scot W. re-program mine to flash all the way across, as I think that just looks better (cooler, better bling-bling, whatever you want to call it).

Either way, I am not concerned, as even the way they are on my car is much better than the factory set-up.

What kind of fee to re-program were you quoted by the way?

Rob

Rob,

"$50 fee (assuming programming time will be less than 1 hour)" was quoted from the Manufacturer, not Scot.

I plan on buying a set and if I really don't like the bling - I will run the stock program.

If all else fails, I will hang 'um on the wall in my Tiki Bar.

Thanks,
Lou

You are going to like them either way....
