Even a cardboard cutout of Billy Glidden would work.
Big Connely fan Huhh! LOL!;)

You may be on to something there Bronco Johnny, maybe a slight rule change that would incoporate a 50 mile loop thru Noble up to the streets of Norman and back would do the event wonders. After all street cars are street cars, and that's what this event is all about right? Atleast I thought it was. Anyway, at last years event I know of 3 cars in the 120-130 ish range that were driven to the event from Tulsa and back, thats about a 200 mile round trip and yes they are "Street cars." For or Against?

Heck that is fine, I wouldn't have any problem with that. I can drive my car to the track and that is a minimum of about 35 miles around here. Now, i would never drive the damn thing to Oklahoma...thats a bit far to be sitting there listening to 3.5" exhaust at 2700 RPM (no overdrive). It would sure make it interesting!! I just wish Ford had an OD tranny that could take some abuse and still be reliable...

AOD and AODE:confused:

An AOD built right can stand up to about 850-900hp from what I've seen at the track down here.... There are a couple Mustangs I've seen at the track running high to mid 9's with a built AOD trans and the AODE from what I was told can support about 1000hp...... I don't know how much power Bronco Johnny is making, but if it's a 1000hp or under he could have an AODE behind it IMO!

Your right it's kinda along the same lines as a 200 in a buick!

I am very close to 1000 horsepower...close enough to where I wouldn't use one.

I see your point.... You'd rather be racing than rebuilding your trans all the time!

your car looked awsome tonight at denton. my god what size turbos are you running on that thing, those are tinny looking for the power you are laying down. good runs, sorry about you being knock out so early this time.

the are 63's and you are right by todays standards they are small - and it does suck when you pull Kim Smith the 1st round - first pick!!! but at least I can say that I have raced (and lost to) a pro-stock driver... you see that light he put on me? lol

.447 to my .529

Ka'Boom... it was over before it started =)

him or morgan always wins. i was really rooting for grant to win. but any torbo car would have suited me.

BTW we where out there with Andrews Maroon and silver GT with the big ass cowl hood. the air really sucked though. how far off where yall running?

someone said the air was really bad at like 5000 or something - I never really paid it no mind. I was off the entire night I think my best reaction was a .475 or something - Friday night I cut a .408 and a .410 =)

we have completely changed the gear set up in the lenco as well as made a few changes to the tune that obviously has had an effect on the clutch both down low and in high gear. I never made a full clean pass Saturday night so to answer your question... the car was way off.

I am going to make a tire change as well as a few other misc. changes to things and try and go back out maybe this weekend somewhere. I really think that 104" roll-out is killing the car in the short - I can't seem to through enough gear or clutch at it - maybe I just dont have enough power to turn it.

shootout

lets hope mark gets his trans back from bruce before the shoot out ???? thanks ted

Thats it!Somebody needs to come to the track with me for a few saturdays and help me get my KILL mode dialed in.Mid 11s are not where I want to be when I go up there.Ive been waiting to meet some of the DFW stangs crowd and put down a few runs.Sounds like alot of fun for all,but that pro tree thing makes me nervous.
