TOTALLY fixable! I rear ended a mini van in my GN 5 years back. Looked just like yours, except the whole front clip was toast. Local autobody place stretched my frame (the bumper bent it slightly upward at the front) for 100 bucks. A buddy and I replaced the front clip in my backyard with a horrendous set of tools. I'll try and dig up some before pictures. Good luck man!

Don't worry. You can buff that out. Definitely buy it back from the ins. Co.

Then, go to the SW section and get in touch with "my1stgn" aka Victor. He's got a free regal body and frame to anyone who will take it. I've seen it. It's what you need. Located in San Diego County (south).... It'll give you a good start if your frame is bent.

Think of it this way, if you had a newer car, the airbags would have deployed making it a much harder fix...

I have one that is much worse, and I have every intention of fixing it. It will be a year or three but it will happen someday.

I think you could "pull" the frame .. I have had them where it buckled the roof . Wasn't hard to fix.. Frames shouldn't be hard to find .. I have one here thats been all blasted and painted along with others that need cleaning .. BUT it would be a long ride for you to come pick it up  seriously the damage doesn't look bad to me at all

agree fix it they are rare and it wouldnt be an bad investment esp if you love the car. i know if my 80 monte turbo got wreck i would fix it but if my custom painted mustang got wreck i would be like **** it they are a dime a dozen
and im a body man anything can be saved if you really want to put the time and effort in it

Man sad to see this, can be a tough call. Biggest part of fixing it if you're not capable is finding a body shop that can/will correctly.

That sucks. It may be worth fixing if you do most of the work. The f ucker that hit you no doubt stole the truck. If it was me i would have chased his ass since no one was going to be able to do anything with the car very easily. I most likely would have caught the f ucker too. Would have been a really bad day for him if i did. I would have dragged him back to the scene.

Have you done any upgrades to the car since you bought it? If so, see if you can get them to up the payoff. Find out how much it will cost you to buy it back. If not much, then do it, and either put it back together, or part it out so that someone else can put theirs back together.

Wow, sorry to here. I would have been floppen around like a fish outta water on the highway if I was hit like that. Insurance companies rape people every day and deny claims to discourage people from following up. I'm sure they could spare $15-20k. I'm know your car could. How are they not going to pay out on that.

He wouldn't have gotten far with 50000 volts of electricity in his back....

If you really love the car and money isn't vey important, fix it. Otherwise I honestly think you're going to pump a lot of money into a car that is going to have a salvage title. For the money you're getting you could pick up a clean title Turbo Buick.

Sorry for the loss, car looks to have been very well taken care of. Glad you walked away.

If you decide to junk it, I need the roof and will come get it.

Who honestly cares about salvaged vs clean titles anymore? Branded titles can be a result of a busted column joy ride and keyed paint. It doesnt mean the car is junk. Most people can tell if a car is "right" or a hack job..............

I would fix it if it were mine. If time and money are out of sorts I would make someone a good deal on the whole thing and go shopping for another one. JUST PLEASE DON'T LET THE INSURANCE CO. TOW IT OFF!!! Best of luck with it and glad you are Ok. Jon Hanson

I asked about this myself when I was looking at a truck with a salvage title....the answer I got was sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get the DMV to title it (may depend on where you live) or that the vehicle will be difficult to resell, but yes also because chances are it's a car that was wrecked then cobbled back together for a resale. Happens all too often.

You would THINK most knew how to tell, but I've met a lot of people that could not see past the shiny paint and near perfect interior and thus fell for it. Then later learned all they really did was paid top dollar for an otherwise lemon.

I don't why a salvage title would be issued for keyed paint or a busted column that sounds ridiculous. If anything, a salvage title should only be issued if the car was involved in an accident where the car sustained heavy damage, as what is depicted in this thread.

Quite honestly I'd buy a salvage car if I knew it could be titled again and if the seller was not asking much for it.

AAA hasnt got back to me yet and its been like 2 and a half weeks already but they said im gonna get the whole $7500 thats what i paid for the car
Sure they are, they offered that because they know you know what you paid and they already looked it up and found it was worth more. AAA won't be out a thing as they will go after the other guys insurance and they will pay. By the way, why isn't his insurance paying for this?

Oh... and I say fix it. You are in LA, good clean Regal donor can be had for under $1000, maybe $500-600. That will get you a frame and whole front clip plus a lot of extras.
