couldent have said it better. If they want to live they need to find a way out themselves and stop putting faith in unorganized relief efforts and big brother to come in and save them.

I'm not going to sit here and focus on the problems I have with you, that isn't really productive. You win if you want to be prejudice and wish horrible things on people then thats your right. I believe my focus and everyone elses shouldn't be on the politcal side of this crisis, but on the human side. These people need help it doesn't matter if they are stupid, evil or w.e. They are still our fellow Americans, and are still human just like me and you, and they need our help. You guys can point fingers at Bush , Democrats, Left, or Right or w.e. All that does is cause division and more problems. People are in need of help and I think we should do all we can to save them.

Would you treat your child like that. I'm sure at 1 point you weren't self sufficient and you mom had to whipe your ass, feed you and ect. You probably like most of us depended on your parents until you became an adult. Even then if your son 1 day said dad I messed up and I need help or I will die. Would you say you got yourself into that position and your responsible for getting out? Or would you treat your son with love and compassion and help him to get out of his predicament regardless of his stupidity. Try just for 1 second to put yourself in their position, and think about how you would feel if your family was dieing and you had to look at your wife and family in tears, hunger, and being afraid of dieing.

Look iam not talking about the sick or elderly, which i think we should put all our efforts into getting them out.Dont think iam saying let them all die or something. But if you can pick yourself up and walk then do what ever it takes without hurting anyone else in the process to get out. That way we could more easily evacuate those that cant care for themselves.
you even said it your self "I still have 2 feet and three days to walk my butt off.Heck maybe even thumb a ride on I 10.Hop a doggone train or something! Don't be an idiot."

I never disagreed with the fact lutters should be delt with and the fact you BLOB use to reside in New Orleans wouldve lead me to beleave you would be more understading to what has happend and a insight to why

Johnny

but your the idiot and you STFU :) :)

I can't believe some of what I am reading on this thread....the local, state and federal government all are at fault. They too had three days to get ready for this storm...maybe they didn't read the NOAA warning either?
Democrats and Republicans are both to blame. This should have been a military operation starting Sunday morning when the storm was a Cat 5 with 175mph winds. Yes, some of the people sound uneducated, but that doesn't mean they should die. People had to evacuate over a hundred miles!! Some of you guys say they should walk that in 90+ degree heat?? People with cars almost didn't get out in time.
NOBODY deserves to go through what these people are STILL going through 5 days after the storm hit. There are dead bodies in the streets, on the highways, in the superdome, floating in the water for days. There was an old women on Fox News last night that had died in her wheel chair. She was pushed in a corner with a blanket half covering her. NOBODY deserves to die like that. Everyone is to blame. Maybe we could stop the petty bickering until the dead are off the streets and everybody is rescued

Fox News has said the only route out of N.O. is blocked with a police check point and anyone trying to leave is being turned around and sent back. The reporters look shell shocked and are wondering when supplies are going to arrive.

Don't even suggest predjudice. They were complaining from day one, before the government had time to act. Sure, if I had a starving family I would do what it took for them to survive but that doesn't include shooting at relief helicoptors, looting, shooting at and beating innocent people. I lived in New Orleans for 7 years. If you think the blacks don't hate white people in the ghetto in NO, you're sadly mistaken. I've been there, you most likely haven't. Sorry if this is too blunt but that's how it is. I never, never went in certain areas without a gun because I was white. I'm sad for the good people and the media, like always only shows the worst. I think the looters and shooters should be locked in NO and left to kill each other. It's really too bad you can't separate the good from the bad.

Some people need to get a clue. Start by learning what a NATURAL DISASTER is all about. I am sure the definition does not even go into who's fault.

Does it make sense to keep in readiness for extremely rare events - this is being called a 100 year storm (even though it is being compared to the 1969 storm)

The President declared a State of Emergency before it even started to rain in NO!!!

Have to wait for the storm to end or the rescuers may need to be rescued themselves.

Then need to get the stranded people and those hanging on trees FIRST.

The maggots that are high and dry under cover need to STFU.

Hey Smokin'6 , there is a political section for you go to and blame everything that goes wrong in the universe on the President - I'm sure it only happens, from you, when your personal choice is not in office

OH mac you lil fool, I can quote SOURCES, not just type away such as yourself.

Note the statement on the Times-Picayune article of 2004 and 2005, um it wasn't Clinton in office then, maybe you weren't looking.

"lil fool?" "type away?" Hey, moron, ever hear of copy-paste?

I didn't quote from the 2004 or 5 article. I went back to 1995. Get it? You know you can do that through the magic of the internet, right?

Ok, I've been through two major hurricanes in the last year. Ivan was as bad as this storm in a smaller populated area, but it did not get the coverage. Go to www.pensacolanewsjournal.com and search the Ivan pictures. People weren't dying and looting places the first day after the storm. Yes, it was tough, but you have to do some kind of prep. Its as if these people did no prep at all except rely on the government to take care of them. I've learned most of the time you'll be disappointed when you rely on the government.

BTW, through EXPERIENCE FEMA SUCKS! FEMA is the problem right now. I say that without a doubt. There are already stories about how FEMA won't bring generator or food to the local leaders until they can get at FEMA inspector to the site first.... WTF!?!?!

The Mississippi coast looks 10X worse than NOLA. It looks worse than EVERY tsunami location except for banda aceh, itself.

Ok,one time for those still using the poor excuse.

Being poor does not make you stupid, being stupid makes you poor.

I never said anything prejudiced here, but hey whatever you want man.

I will say I am not surprised by their actions. The majority within that "minority" act that way everywhere.

We have a whole section of Dallas here full of them. And now we are getting 25,000 + of them bussed in to Dallas now.

Until you have them coming to your city in droves with their "everybody owes me" attitude, just shut up.

Nobody made them poor but themselves and nobody forces them to live in craphole neighborhoods, they make them that way.

Thousands of our fellow citizens have died from this hurricane. Maybe more than Sept 11......more are dying as I write this....many are suffering right know...where is the compassion and sadness??

my heart goes out to all those who are affected by this NATURAL DISASTER. I know when i can i will donate whatever i can to aid in the rescue and recovery of those people. However, i don't blame the federal government or the president for what's happened. I think a little bit of responsibility goes to all branches of the government from the local to the state to the federal for a lack of preparation, but more importantly the people have to bear some responsibility as well for not being prepared or attempting to be somewhat prepared. Besides, too many people in this world have now gotten used to the attitude that "it'll never happen to me." I think that if more people took these sort of situations more seriously, you'd have less people dying and more people able to help out one another. Granted, there is a $hitload of water down there, but what else can you expect living at below sea level. anyhoo, the important thing now is rescuing and caring for those who are still in danger......and to shoot the next a$$hole i see on the news trying to carry a TV in waist-high water....wasting energy that could be used to help the fellow man. it's an incredible tragedy, but an even bigger tragedy is the lack of togetherness that is needed in these situations.

how much do you want to bet that in 6 months we hear about a money scandel involving this disaster from some charity......they are insisting on cash donations which sounds a little familiar to me from another disaster that took place not too long ago.

You've said most of what I've been thinking. The reason things appear to be going so slow is the scope of this catastrophe is so large. A lot of people need help, in a large unaccessible flooded area. The city and state agencies were overwhelmed and of not much help. You can't even move in until the storm ends. You're not going to tell me that anything was slowed down because most survivors were African Americans. No expense or effort is being spared to help these people. This isn't like 9/11 where the damage was confined to one relatively small area of the city. It's spread over thousands of square miles.

As Bush has been relentlessly attacked since gaining office in 2000, this is a continuation of the same tactics by the left. The media is pointing out only the bad news of the catastrophe. What else could you expect?

Smokin 6........he can't help it. He hates America.

What Could You Expect From A Rap Star

Rapper Kanye West blasts Bush on TV benefit show
03 Sep 2005 08:21:44 GMT

Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Rapper Kanye West surprised viewers of an NBC benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina victims on Friday by accusing President George W. Bush of racism.

"George Bush doesn't care about black people," West said from New York during the show aired live on the East Coast on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC and Pax, just before cameras cut away to comedian Chris Tucker.

West, who is black, suggested moments earlier that delays in providing relief to survivors of the hurricane that hit the U.S. Gulf Coast on Monday and flooded New Orleans were deliberate. He said America was set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible."

The Grammy award-winning singer, who was paired with comedian Mike Myers, also said in what NBC described as unscripted remarks, "We already realized a lot of the people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way, and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us."

He was apparently referring to shoot-on-sight orders issued to National Guard troops to halt violence and looting in New Orleans.

West also criticized the media's portrayal of blacks, saying: "I hate the way they portray us in the media. If you see a black family, it says they're looting. See a white family, it says they're looking for food."

In a statement, NBC, a unit of General Electric Co. <GE.N>,said, "Kanye West departed from the scripted comments that were prepared for him, and his opinions in no way represent the views of the networks.

"It would be most unfortunate," the statement continued, "if the efforts of the artists who participated tonight and the generosity of millions of Americans who are helping those in need are overshadowed by one person's opinion."

The program, hosted by Matt Lauer of NBC News, urged viewers to donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. It included 18 presenters, and featured performances by New Orleans natives Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton Marsalis, as well as Louisiana native Tim McGraw and Faith Hill of Mississippi, which was also struck by Katrina.

somebody should've pulled the plug on him last night.....i'm quite frankly tired of the largely uneducated and pompous "celebrities" that we seem to breed in this country. everyone has something to say as if they know wtf they are talking about. it would be a shame if donations were lost because of one a$$hole, maybe he should kick the difference for opening his mouth.

I am sooooo sick & tired of heraring the race card being played!!! I feel for most of them, but not all!! call me an a$$hole, but why would anyone live where every day there is a threat of a flood. these SOBs shooting @ the rescue workers should be fired upon! as for the luding I would comendeer a boat from a sporting goods store to save my a$$, I would take food & water. but these WORTHLESS SOBs taking guns, jewlery & other nonsence items shoud be prosecuted ! (but there is no way to find them).
as for Kanye West, the idiots in the media will keep playing it over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over!!
you get my meaning.
