methanol injection. has anyone tried it? heard about it? would it work for our cars?

thanks

thanks brad. another question does casper elect. sell a wire harness so i can plug in an 87 ecm

Slow- Caspers selss a kit which includes the MAT sensor. The 87 ECM plugs right into the 84/85 wiring harness. Brad

Not only does alky let you turn the boost up but it also cools the intake charge alot. as far as the ecm its as simple as pluging the ecm and getting the MAT sensor and pluging the wire into the correct port on the harness. i also changed over the MAF as well becuase i had a 87 one around the house

thanks for all the help guys. so your saying an 87 ecm wiil just plug right into my harness or do i need an adaptor.

the ecm will plug right in. the MAT = MANIFOLD AIR TEMPATURE

another question i thought on hot air cars you had to run higher boost because the air is thinner and lower the boost when its cooler? i think you know what i mean.

so all i need is an 87 ecm a mat sensor, power logger, a chip and alky inj and im ready to go. and maf translator II.

not sure i know what you mean on the boost thing but for us it is harder to run more boost due to the fact the outlet air charge is alot higher then what you will find on the 86-87 cars do to the fact they have a intercooler to cool the charge prior to putting it in the intake. i cars love cool weather because this will help in lower temps in the intake charge. as far as the 87 ecm deal yes all you will need is a 87 ecm and the mat sensor and wiring for it from caspers. the powerlogger i think is a must have if you can afford it as it is by far the best tunning tool out there. alky is great as it will lower the intake charge temp and will also act as a fuel. with that being said you can run more boost and make more power. as far as the chip i would call turbo tweak and have him make you one for your setup. i like his chips alot due to the fact that you can change the timing fuel in different areas and that helps us tune and prevents us from always send our chips of to get re-burned. as far as the MAF you can run a 87 unit like i do or you can run translator either will work but i find the 87 MAF works very well. all this will help but you might want to also tackel some problem areas that these cars have. if you want you can list your mods and we can help you from there. if you have any more questions please ask as im very bored sitting here in the desert.

the desert as in tuscan az in your signature? or the desert acoss the seas?

anything I can send over to ya? video game? dvd? a good quality moral boosting magazine to "read"?
Is there one of the turbobuick books or dvds on kirbanperformance.com or postonbuick.com that you don't have? Why don't you pick one out and pm me your address over there. I'll call them up and have it shipped out today.
Not joking either. My way of saying thanks for your service to our country.

No, the cooler you can run the less chance there is to cause detonation or knock espically while under boost. That is why 160 thermostats, larger radiators and electric fans are installed on some HA & IC cars. A stock hot air could only run about 13 lbs of boost on pump gas, compared to 17 lbs on the IC cars.

Here is a link from TB's about converting your ecm it is really simple and you can get a ecm at the junk yard for 20 bucks too. Everything is in there.

I just recently install Razor's kit on my car but have not had a chance to test or start the tuning process yet. His kit is first class all the way.
