Come help support our guys and gals in the military. Special events are planned. A music band is going to be present later in the day. I heard rumor that a fly over is planned. Check the Barona Drags website for more details.
Big prize money is on the line.

10am to 7pm or beyond.

See you at the track.

Sounds cool for the military guys, I thank them all!

Free entry for military?
It was free to a certain military housing group. It was basically a track rental by this particular military housing organization. It turned out to be a very busy day for the track.

It was very rewarding being able to participate in the showing of appreciation for our military.

Looking back on it, it all seemed rather trivial to how I really feel about the pride and thankfulness I feel for our people that sacrifice to protect our country every day.

How did the car perform? Making any progress?
I've started fine tuning the chassis (rear tire pressure at this point), nitrous activation on-time, and the boost control curve, controlled by an AMS1000 boost controller using CO2.
In my AMS1000 for dummies thread I will be detailing more of the controller settings, but here I'll just say that I've found a good tire pressure range to experiment with and I've got a very good basic boost controller strategy to work with.
The first pass of the day was a 6.04 ET. Went back to the pits and changed the boost control curve just a tad (tenths of a second here and there) and brought up the overall boost level by 1/2 psi and clicked off a 5.95 (NEW RECORD with the 91mm) on the second pass. 60 foots for both passes were in the low to mid 1.4s. Nitrous on-time before the launch was still configured to fit within a 3 amber sportsman tree start. Traction was very good on this day.

Only got 2 passes in due to other special racing events going on that day, but anytime I come away with a new record for the car with this configuration, it's a good day.

Congrats Don! I'm assuming you're running more tire pressure? I know I could never run pressures as low as you were.

I had started with 9.75 psi tire pressure and used that for as long as I can remember. With the advice I started getting on this site, I tried 10.75 psi. The results were disastrous, if not downright dangerous with that tire pressure. I went down to 9.25 and then 9.0 and the car stuck well at both pressures. I'm going to work the boost pressure up 1/2 psi at a time with the 9.0 tire pressure and if I reach a point where I start losing traction again, I'll start lowering the tire pressure 1/4 psi at a time and see what happens. My setup definitely doesn't like the high psi in the tires.

At this point in the tuneup with the 91mm, I'm off the best I had achieved with the T76 by:
.14 sec at the 60 foot
.24 sec at the 330'
1.4 mph at the 330'
.22 sec at the 660'
Bettered the 660' mph by over 1 mph.
Still have about 3 psi more boost to throw at her until I hit the same old fuel system supply limit. The plugs look real good. Not showing any heat yet, so we'll see what the tires will let us get away with.
