As I stated in a previous post weber racing built my motor and totally did not do it right with leaky heads, loose timing chain and mains a few loose. So now im at the track turned the boost up and the car falls on its face(didnt push it on the dyno). Get the facts from Weber with specs and had the 224 224 cam grinded to make sure its all good (it is a billet) and find out the lifters that were put in were hydrolic and cam requires solid and the springs are not the correct poundage. At this point im so mad spending LOTS of money to have then build a motor with half the stuff wrong

sorry nothing, but people got to know Weber would not stick behind there product or admit they did anything wrong. maybe in the wrong section then

You should have taken them to court and had them fix the engine.

For now i would suggest stop driving the car and getting the correct lifters, pushrods and springs and fixing the leaking head gaskets before you completely destroy the engine.

I highly doubt Weber would install hydraulic lifters if the cam required solid lifters....you need to talk to Dave, something doesn't seem right here.

hahahaha... good luck with the court system ... Oh if you did actually win ya have to collect it !!

OP.. Have you spoken to Weber about your problems ??

The 224 224 they sell is hydraulic unless you had them make a special solid roller cam that is also 224@.050". It is the same cam I have been running for 4 years from low 10s to high8s. It will be even faster next time out.

What does your build sheet tell you? Everything stated on mine was correct. Sorry for your pains. I remember giving the x2 on going with Weber.:( Still would give them thumbs up though.

Sorry to hear you are still battling that thing.

the leaking and motor issues were fixed 2 years ago, it just stinks after that im still having problems, I got all the EXACT info from weber, then gave to my local shop, they called the people that grinded the cam and they gave my shop the specs on what the cam requires. So webers paperwork is wrong from the place they sent out to have my cam grinded just a bit after the motor blew. yes hydraulic cam but requires solid lifter and my rockers set to 0 lash. O I know itll fly, cuz im making 570whp at 5400rpm..or should i say it better lol
2. I complained to weber over and over and sent pics etc..etc, all they would do is reimburse for leaky heads and shop time normally take off heads and redue it, wooping 200 bucks HAH I SAID. And yes court good luck. ive heard stories and it he said she said

and thanks matt, been talking with eric alot about this on the phone, he and the local shop concurred its prob in the cam/springs/lifters issue, so you read from the earlier post that its a combo of both. If you talk to eric he'll mention what a POS motor this was..if he hasnt already cuz he'll never recommend that SH*T again to anyone at his shop. GOOD news on the other hand is before the motor starts floting im at 540whp at 5400rpm, and eric said she'll spin to 7000plus so fig 650-700ish im guessing pending how much boost i push

Can you please post up some spec or something that qualifies your claims? Like measure the installed height of a few springs and post the open and closed pressures. You comment about the wrong lifters makes little sense to someone like me. It's possible either type of lifter could be used on either cam. Hyd cams are more aggressive than solids on analysis. The hyd lifter is a big shock absorber.

I only suggested the court system because that's about the only way you have of getting your money back or having them fix the engine. I'm not saying you will win the case if you go the court system route but atleast you have a chance, if not all you can do is suck up the loss and fix the engine at your expense and move on in life.

X2 I am not disputing your claim. I am saying I have personally dealt with Weber on numerous occasions and the are extremely knowledgeable of Turbo Buicks and their customer service is second to none.
