Hello everyone one in the turbo buick community. I am starting a ms3 pro install in my turbo Buick . I’ve been wanting to remove all my old stock wiring . I have had electrical issues ever since I have purchased the car so hopefully this will cure that issue . So I will be wiring this ms3 up without using the stock ignition module. This requires me to wire the cam and crank sensor directly in to the MS3 . I will also need to use a 1k resistor or a pull-up resistor on the crank signal in order for the signal to be read by the ms3. I have also purchased a new set of ignition coils the good expensive IGN-1A coils as well as some new high impedance 210lb/hr injectors. That is the main difference between the MS3pro ultimate and the MS3pro Evo . The ultimate cam run low impedance injectors where the evo would need a resistor box in line with the injector wiring in order to run low impedance injectors. I will be running a flex fuel sensor to run on ethanol. I also added on a WiFi adapter that will allow me to connect to the MS3pro wireless which is pretty cool . I will try and update this thread as I go because I know there isn’t very many turbo Buick’s that are running a MS3pro Evo or ultimate. They do have a nice plug and play unit for our cars but that would be running through the stock wiring which is what I wanted to replace. And just so everyone knows I am far from a professional when it comes to wiring or tuning with this system. I am learning as I go along and if I can do it I’m convinced that the average mechanically/electrically inclined person can tackle this install .

Acouple more pics . I have also upgraded my 140amp alternator to a 200amp unit. .i also have found a egt amplifier for a lot cheaper then the ones you would get ready to go . I paid $40 each . That gives me 8 k type egt inputs with 8 0-5vdc outputs

Okay so I got my coils in the mail today aswell as my EGT amplifier. I made a new fuel injector harness and have straight alternator power coming in to them through 2 separate legs that will power the 2 separate banks . Now I’m working on the ignition wiring .

So I made a ignition sub harness for my ING-1A ignition coils . I had bought a 12 pin connector and ran the ecm signal and the ecm ground through the connector. Then I have 12vdc going to each bank and a head ground going to each bank

Lookin’ good brother, keep at it. Love watching the progress. Glad you found some bonehead to buy up your Stage stuff so you could keep your build going. Lol

Okay guys just thought I would do a update on this project . I got everything wired up and got it started . Since I got it started and running now the plan is to unpatch everything and use the harness tape I bought to clean it all up and make it look presentable . I did run into a issue with my big ass injectors. They are sticking open and flooding the cylinder which isn’t cool . I actually found out by breaking my starter :-( so enough with the 210lb/hr massive injectors I’m going back to my proven 160lb low impedance injectors. I bought a AEM peal&hold injector driver to drive the injectors and gives them all the power they could ever need. . So I have a new mini starter coming . I also purchased the perfect tune MS3 Gauge . It’s pretty dam cool IMo . And the best part is it gave me 3 more Inputs. So with the 3 inputs I will wire my 2,4,6 cylinder EGT to it . The gauge will send the data to the MS3PRO and be able to record it . So hopefully within the next couple of weeks I will be back on the road and getting ready to jump on the Dyno and tune her .

Why cant that EVO handle 220s?
it can . The injectors are sticking open . And after reading up on them I need to get a injector filter as the ones I bought don’t have one . So that’s probably the reason behind the sticking injectors. The EVO can’t handle low impedance injectors with out some resistors or a peak and hold driver . So I got a great deal on the driver so the 160s are plenty for me especially with the 525 main pump with a 450 pump to back it up .

Okay thought I would give everyone a update. I have the AEM peak & hold box wired in and I can test them with the ms3 . All of them cycle when tested but when I try and start the motor nothing not even a attempt to fire. If the 220s would not leak they work great on my car and the car starts up with no issues. I’m emailing DIY auto tune to see if there is some special setting for using the peak and hold drivers with the ms3 Evo .

If memory serves the white wire coming out of that box is the signal wire. Is it hooked up?

I found that one out the hard way.

Hmm yes I have all the injectors hooked up correct way as I can go test them through the ms3 and they pulse no problem A-F .they just don’t fire when I actually try and start it

I found some injector data for the 160lb/hr I am going to see if I input these dead times in if it helps . There is also the dead time data for the Bosch high impedance 210lb/hr injectors I found aswell .

Well that did not help . I swapped my leaky 210lb/hr high impedance injectors and it fired right up . So I now have the company I got them from sending me some replacements for the leaking 2 injectors. .im still curious why the AEM driver box is not working when I attemp to start the car but does work if I turn on the test mode I can click through A-F weird . Is it something to do with it being full sequential? Just a update for ya .
