I was helping my dad replace the water pump on his 1995 Impala SS, when I made the comment that he should really get after his engine bay since it was looking a little dirty. He came back with, "dirty or not, it will still outrun you!" I started laughing and told him that I was going to make him remember why he bought my buick in 86.

poor dad is going to get a refresher course in the design of regal tail lights!

If you were my brat I'd make you drive the whale and I'd be in the Buick. ;)

When I was looking for a new daily driver I test-drove a '96 SS. It was stupid slow compared to the GN - your dad needs to get behind the wheel of the Regal again to remind himself of how quick it is.

I passed on the Impala, and grenaded the motor in the GN on the way home from the test drive. Wound up with a Buick Century which I dare say was *almost* as fast as the Impala.

silly he is!

better tell pops he needs to lay off all the meds, they are clouding his sense of reality:o

this thread reminds me of today, it was 60° out and my dad and i decide to head out for one of the local casinos.. we did OK at the casino, he won, i lost, he ended up buying lunch afterwards :)

we take off from lunch at the "DIVE", (downtown KC) and im on the phone with a buddy of mine (D)who just called, Dad is driving his WE4 and im trying to fasten the seatbelt as we are already driving down the road.
all of a sudden we are going sideways at 45MPH and im talking on the phone trying to fasten my seatbelt, and listening to the tires boil away off the brick buildings next to us!!!
what ever meds my dad was on, give me some:)

actually he drives a crap newyorker everyday, and i have been driving a accord for the past 10 days, sure was nice to ride in something with 400 HORSEPOWER!

anywho, trade cars with pops for one tank full and see if he will give you back your keys to the turbo regal, im willing to bet once he gets back in the 96 impala, he is going to wonder if there is 4 inches of carpet under the throttle pedal!!!

I think he meant that it will outrun you when you are walking down the street (or sidewalk) and you least expect it. Look at all the money he'll save on your college expenses. Not to mention the fact that he gets his award winning TR back.
