Hey guys im trying for 10s

heres what its run so far

60ft-1.97
1/8-7.6
1/4-11.74@119.95

this is with 25lbs of boost 26in tires @19degrees timing
on alky

what do i need for 10.99s

im thinking
1.pte 63 housing (garret 63 on that run)
2.air bags
3.taller slicks
4.rjc boost control (was over boosting

any thing else oh i havent tuned it yet with direct scan going to do that though

Johnny

Thanks guys

2 more MPH and your making the power for a 10.xx run. A little more timing and/or boost should get that so getting the power to the ground is what you need.

It looks like you need at least 2 additional MPH and a 60' in the low 1.4's to pop into the very high 10's. A good set of 28.5 X 10.5 slicks along with an agressive launch should do it.

Can understand how a car with heads and running 25 PSI is a high 11 car. Your're missing a full second, I'd say...

I "CANN"T" see how you are going to get there with your exsisting turbo at that altitude?

First off you will need a second job :D it seems that is an expensive barrier you are at to cross and be reliable / consistant is never as easy as some claim. You are going to have to lauch that thing to beat hell or get a big time turbo to put down some serious mph.

so build a car that lanches excellent and you can do it or build one that will run down a jet fighter.
Good Luck

You really, REALLY need to get your 60ft's down. Thats going to help you out a lot. I ran an 11.1 with a 1.62 60ft at 119.9mph. You just need to hook off the line. Air bags help and some taller tires couldnt hurt at all. I would go with 28's, but thats just me.

I ran a 10.97@119.53 the other day with a 1.46 60ft.

With some tweaking you can get there.

Good Luck

Thanks guys

as for ported heads and missing a second well thats becuase of altitude (if i was sea level it would be in the 10s i assure you)

as for turbo this one seems strong but perhaps not strong enough???

this car is 3680lbs with me in it

Johnny

hey nick whats the max size turbo i can run with 60lbs(65lbs??)

THANKS GUYS

If you drop your 60 ft 4 tenths to a 1.57, you drop off 8 tenths on your E.T. and your there.

So, Mickey Thompson's ET Street Drag Radials 275/60/15's or
Roll the lip, 1" frame notch and get 325/50/15 MT's and your there.
www.mickeythompsontires.com/racewheels.html

Poly bushings, Boxed or Aftermarket Control Arms, air bags, and if you have some extra dough, the H&R Bar.

I use an adjustable boost controller off ebay for $15 and it holds boost just fine.

Hook it up ;)

Guess you never raced your car at altitude?:) Sounds good in theory, but does not respond that way in thin air.

You should be able to get there with a TE-45A.

You guys are awsome

Hey nick i would love to belive the whole 60ft thing which im sure helps but......

I thought the te-66 turbo (4in inlet, big shaft, 3inexh) is a tad bigger than the 45a or equal to im by far no turbo expert but that is what the search feature revealed

Johnny

THANKS FOR THE ADVISE GUYS

our track sucks so low 60s are far and between out here im thinking at best a low 1.7 is going to be the best

You have enough Turbo. Your 60' times are rotten. Get the car to hook and launch and you will almost be there. Bump the boost to 28psi, buy the best race fuel you can find, and WATCH out for KR.

I ran a 10.83 on a 95 degree day with a stock motor, alot smaller injector and turbo. I was pulling a 1.55 60'. Of course Nick is right about the altitude. Was elevation are you at?

Dave, he is 5000' in the desert which on a normal day is a DA of over 6000'

We run at a DA normally 3-4000' and power is way down as well as boost. On a 10-11 sec car, this is about 3-5 tenths. This also hurts 60' times due to less air and developing less power off the line.

Ask the guys in Las Vegas last month, their normal times were off 2-3 tenths at 2100' elevation. Couple years ago we had a Buick weekend in Tucson with one night a DA of 7000'. Stock turbo could not get over 14 psi with the wastegate all the way tight!:)

Love it when we go to a sea level track with good air! My 10.2 run at your track would put me solid in the 9's.:D

I have many more similar examples from guys I know, but will not bore you with them.

1.9x 60 and 119 mph

were you spinning?

if so expect to loose some mph.....spinning off the line will inflate your mph

how hard are you launching?

what suspension mods do you have ?

Hey guys

i was spinnig then bam hook from what one person told me watching the run(lauching 8psi)

im at 5320ft above sea leval

I know for fact getting my 60s down will put me in the mid 11s

as for suspension i have atr rear sway bar, boxed lower control arms im going to buy air bags and try to baroow some 28in slicks

our track is one of the most crappy tracks their is i have friends that go to vegas and cut 1.6s on drag radails

im going to run it again next sunday ill keep updated

THANKS GUYS

Johnny

ok so the spinning is an issue

for evry 10 th you drop on the 60 it will give you 2 10ths on the top.......so with a 1.6 60 ft you should be around the 11.0 mark

now all this is on paper and just a guidline not a set in stone thing .........i would think in reality that the 1.6 would put you in the 11.20-11.30 at around the same mph
