most John Deere tractors come with rims that are way bigger than 24"- closer to 36" o4 48", i think. at least on the rear. 24's would just look stupid..i have had 22 inch rims all around on a cutlass salon and it handled very well, this is my cruiser and i will be keeping the stock t-type rims,to use also, and if some of you guys buy some magazines you will realize people
have move out of the dark ages,my last car with 22's on it got complements from people from all walks of life, you will find that i love to talk bs to the best,
but when it comes down to it we all do what we feel, when i feel the need to blow money i try my luck at the casino not drag race, but for those who dont like big wheels you going to really hate when some puts 24 on their john deer
tractor,me i love creativity even if i dont agree with it.but i being 41 like my cars to look good and still be able to kick some ass.if we all thought the same
this wouldnt be one of the best sites to be a member of.some race, some cruise, some show, some pimp tractors.
and just because most people here think 22" wheels look like ass is becasue we come from a more performance oriented backgrounds. the fact is that 22" wheel with a tire that has 2" of sidewall is just not a good formula for traction- and look out for any bumps in the road or you are gonna be buying a new rim.
you also say you are keeping the stock T wheels- so that means that you aren't going to be doing any sort of brake upgrades. that is just flat out stupid- those big rims have a LOT more mass out farther from the center of mass, which means it's going to want to keep rolling while your stock brakes are trying to make it stop as you quickly approach that truck that is turning in front of you.
most people that get the big rims get them becasue they say it makes the car look faster or whatever- but why does the real performance crowd go with bigger wheels? to clear bigger brakes. it's a purely functional thing- you need an 18" wheel to clear a monster 14" brake rotor. personally, i think a 17" wheel is about the maximum that not only looks good on these cars but also leaves room for 13" brakes and also allows enough sidewall to absorb potholes and also give decent straight line traction.
