took the GN to the 1/8 track tonight, due to some cooler temps rolling in before a rain storm tomorrow.. the outside temps were around 65* on my last run. im still running a crack header under the turbo...

it launched like a MAD MAN.. it lifted the front about 1 1/2 feet and carried it about 7 feet.. all this with a race weight of 3500lbs..

this 6.04 run, should be a 9.43 ET in the 1/4 :eek!::eek!:.. i can't wait for nice month.. i'm hitting a 1/4 track that will have 60's temps at night... WATCH OUT 9.40's.......

Looks like you will be hitting the 9.40's no problem. Mph should be up in the 142-143 range also. Nice work. Looks like your glued to the strip.

What boost on the launch and the rest of the way>

i reviewed my FAST log and i launched at 14psi at 4100RPM... after that, the boost was around 33psi all the way down the track. A/F was 11.60's, shift points at 6400RPM..

i think i got the 60ft's down now.. my car likes low PSI launches of the T-Brake.. i think your right also, 9.40's are really close i can smell it

Your targeting 11.6's? Seems a little lean to me. Id be afraid of melting myself. I havent seen much gain going form 11.2 to 11.5 myself. Only a few hp on the dyno. Tell us more about your suspension.

11.6's have be on this tune for over 2 years now, with over 100+ runs.. haven't hurt anything yet ;) ..

H&R bar, 50 / 50 drag shocks, metco upper and lower control arms, stock springs with air bags set at 4psi... Stock rearend housing with 373 gears..

Using C-16? or something close, that is why he's at 11.6 afr.
PS: what is your EGT? Oh and what is the over the nose pressure on the valve springs because at 6400 rpm you got to be getting close to valve float.

C16 only.. i'm not running a EGT system.. as to the valve floating, i haven't seen anything or heard anything coming out of the motor that would make me think i have that problem... looking to go with a soild lift cam next year, so i can go higher in the RPM range..

Does this mean you're keeping her?
Once again, awesome job!!!

really thinking about it :).. the market isnt there for GN's of this type.. people want it dirt cheap due to the mods, they are smoking some good crack :p .. i'll just keep her and run my 9's..

Congrats! Running this fast with a stock block isn't going to happen on 23psi like some people lead you to believe. I'm glad to see someone isn't afraid to post their real boost numbers!

This is especially true for a hydraulic cammed engine. If your limited by rpm you have no choice but to throw boost and compression at it. His car is definitely a solid piece that will hammer almost anything around at its full weight even if the competition is 500 lbs lighter.

That is still a lot leaner than most will go even on c16. If hes gone 100+ passes and hasnt ad a problem then its definitely not a problem or going to be one as long as it doesnt have to add in a lot of fuel when he shifts. Sometimes the converter will pull the engine down a bunch on a shift causing it to go lean for an instant. Maybe he has it so its adding a little all the time so it doesnt have to go form pulling 5% to adding 5%. It will take it longer to go from pulling to adding than adding a little to adding a little more. Whatever he has going its working well and he has a kick ass combo there.

You could keep the hyd. roller in there so you don't have to pull the front cover and just change the lifters, springs and pushrods and if you talk to some people who have done this the valve train has a lot less noise when you set the valve lash at .006 or there abouts than before with the hyd. lifters. A hyd. roller is a little more gentile on the valve train than most solid rollers too.

i really don't want to start breaking this motor open, when she is running this good.. i'm thinking that i'll wait in till the motor needs to be shipped back to Billy for re-freshing. Then we will do a couple of upgrades :D ..

RIGHT ON... i hate when people sit behind the keyboard and lie their a$$ off about their tune and set-ups  ..
